This is a measure of your character's reputation with the newcomers.

By default, the newcomers are wary and untrusting of strangers- at 0, or no effect, you don't have a good reputation with them, and relations are considered hostile.

To improve your reputation, complete karma quests with positive interactions.

Completing karma quests with negative interactions will remove positive effects earned. If already at 0, no changes will occur.
