Bullied out of the nesting grounds by siblings and rivals, Chaparral's wanderings brought him to the dust and heat of the Blooming Desert, where he currently resides. The bright sun hurts his eyes, forcing him to rest throughout the daylight hours; he is a nocturnal terror for his unfortunate prey, his dusty coat color making exquisite camouflage for the shaded branches of the trees. Most will not see him until he descends from above for the kill... which is to say, most of the larger dinosaurs are safe. A gangly teen raptor can only do so much damage, and his story has only just begun.
