The brother of Lilith is guaranteed to be interesting. And power-hungry. And somewhat villainous.

Mephisto had always got along with Lilith and even when they parted aways as young adults, he held the memories of her fondly. But later in life, catching up with his sister and her family, he is somewhat disapproving of Faust. He thinks Lilith is too good for Faust and is constantly finding other males as potential suitors. Behaviour which infuriates his sister.

He has an inflated ego and sense of superority, especially in regards to Faust and Cain. He treats Mara very warmly though, as the child possesses much of her mother's intellect, drive, and ambition.
