Shape and Placement

  • Despite being somewhat swirly, it must remain naturally shaped.
  • Stripes must be fairly thick and blobby.
  • Cannot create thin, spindly or overly complex stripes.
  • It can be softly erased at the bottom to create a fading effect to the marking.
  • This marking cannot mimic other markings.

Color

  • Het form must be one solid color.
  • Hom form can be two-toned with a gradient.
  • Can be any natural color.
  • Can be affected by color modifiers.

Examples

This is an example of Tabby with its maximum covering and being darker than the base coat.

This is an example of Hom Tabby with its minimum coverage, being lighter than the base coat with a two-toned gradient.

This example is too complex for Tabby! The stripes are too thin, compacted, and spidery. They also end in sharp points - Tabby should be blobby!

This example is too "striped" for Tabby - the stripes are too tapered and end in sharp points.

This example is too spotty - while Tabby can have some blobs and floating spots, this is too many! Additionally, the fade here is incorrect since it's making the marking look two-toned!
