Shape and Placement

  • Roan is a marking that must have low opacity, it can never be opaque.
  • Can feature "cornspots" - small, sparse holes or dark spots, never purely round.
  • Can have a "cloud-like" appearance.

Color

  • Roan dilutes the colors below it, desaturating and lightening them.
    -- Must always remain lighter than the colors it sits on top of, as it dilutes them.
  • Het form must be one solid color.
  • Hom form can be two-toned with a gradient.
  • Can be any natural color.
  • Can be affected by color modifiers.
