Context: Gautier was only mildly intrigued by the footprints along the beach. The feathers he found at intermittent spots however were far more interesting. In vivid hues that reminded him of his own hide, he admired the sheen and pallette with a mix of envy and desire. He needed to find the divine creature that must possess these feathers!
