Trees rustled as a large figure moved through holding large sticks in its jaws in which jaws that would usually be used to kill but not this time it was for a softer purpose, it was for nesting and carrying the material that was needed to build a large nest for an upcoming clutch that was soon to be on their way. It was Andreia who was out doing this as his mate who he had paired with before for courtship was cleaning up the area they had decided to nest in and Solaris was keen on making it perfect while Andreia was out collecting the materials.

While Andreia was out , Solaris used his large tail to move dust and dirt out of the area before using his head to roll boulders that were in the way and finally his jaws to pick up trees and shrubs until he seemed like it was perfect before he stood back and checked various spots again. “This should do I think, it was such a pain to get this place looking good for the nest, now just to wait for Andreia to arrive with the Materials” Solaris said looking around for his mate who was good at being silent. Through the trees Andreia pushed past and came into the opening with large sticks in his jaws and a soft smile once he saw Solaris.

“There you are! Andreia I was waiting for you, what do you think?” He said looking at the cleaned up area as Andreia put the sticks down softly and smiled nudging him softly before speaking “ yes I love it, it’s perfect good choice and I found some sticks for the nest itself hopefully I picked good” it wasn’t their first time nesting so the two were experienced in building a nest so it was always a joy when the two could get to doing that and Solaris was always excited with Andreia just being happy to help his mate.

“Well let’s get to it this nest isn’t going to build itself” Solaris said leaning down and picking up sticks before heading to the area and began placing them with Andreia joining in handing the sticks to him before placing his own gently. Stones and large sticks made good use for the nest as they would protect their clutch when they arrived. After a few moments the nest was starting to take shape after all the hard work the two acros were putting into making sure it was perfect, Solaris and Andreia always loved the arrival of hatchlings and this time was no different.

“I wonder how many we will have this year, we had a bunch last time” Andreia the larger of the two said as he smiled watching Solaris add softer material into the nest, In which Solaris lifted his head and looked at his mate “ I’m sure we will have more this time, just a lot to watch out for” he said with a chuckle, courting was easy for the two with them giving each other various gifts in which the two would pair for life and would never court with others so it was easy for them least that part. 

“ I’m almost done, now would you help me?” Solaris said playfully and continued with Andreia nodding and handing the last few pieces for the nest before moving some smaller boulders to line the nest so that it would be sturdy and stick together. Solari’s mate sighed and nodded before lifting up his head and helping Solaris find the and fill the last finishing touches up. After all the work the two stepped back and admired their work and nest building skills and both were content with this years work with Andreia giving Solaris a lick on his snout and walked off a bit as he had also hunted the two a meal and stashed it in the woods nearby their nesting area, as a gift for his mate and for all the hard work they had done building the nest as it wasn’t easy work.

“I hunted this earlier for us so we had a meal and a bit of a gift as well, dig in and enjoy” he said pulling it to the side as Solaris followed him with a smile and his stomach growling “wow I’m so lucky with you” before he dug into the meal happy for the gift and free food after the work, building nests was getting harder and harder each year with materials being more scarce due to others nesting during the courtship season and the two were happy to be able to find the stuff they had needed.

“Well only a few more days now Solaris then we will have our claws all full again, are you ready?” Andreia said with a low chuckle as he looked at his mate lovingly before shaking his feathered like fur out with Solaris nodding and joining beside him before taking a seat “ready as I will ever be, more every year and we will have our claws full for sure if they keep taking after you” he joked around. The two fostered large clutches every time they had paired and all of them survived due to having two parents who worked well together and were experienced so this year would be no different and the two couldn’t wait for the arrival of them. After all the nest building the two males decided it was time to rest and have full bellies all thanks to Andreia providing.

“Well let’s get some rest big guy, we will need it” Solaris said and laid his head down at the edge of the nest watching over it in excitement in which his mate joined in and agreed before letting out a content sigh “are you just gonna watch over it until they come, you make me laugh” he said laying his head on Solaris back and dozed of needing his sleep, leaving Solaris giving a final chuckle and joining in on the snooze time.
