Twinspot X Grenadier- (Courtship)

The sound of large clubs smacking against the ground drifting up dirt and causing it to rumble with smaller dinosaurs who were in proximity to duck and hide for cover, followed by loud bellows and snorting as a large herd of armoured herbivores Came from all over the island to gather as it was courtship season for them in full swing. All came over to show off each other's strengths and what they had to offer during courting with one of the females who went by the name of Twinspot. It was her first courtship season and seeing all the males was overwhelming and most tried to course her towards them in which she would use her sharp spikes on her sides to avoid them, as none so far piqued her interest.

Not far from here was a much smaller male who was trying to get away from the more bulky males who were pushy and rough when it came to courtship due to them wanting to show off their strength which he wasn’t great at. Grenadier sighed as he moved quickly out of the way of a much larger male who went out of his way to bully the much smaller male before turning his attention to passing females.

“ this is so stressful, all of them are jerks” he snorted as he walked off to the side and took a sit down in the grass trying to ignore all the loud bellowing, he wasn’t confident and having any chance to court a female seemed to become slimmer by the second until he caught the eye of Twinspot who seemed to not be Eager to,stay around the rough and rowdy males as she held her tail up and swung in annoyance, soon making her way over to where he was resting in which Grenadier cleared his throat and welcomed her to the spot he was sitting in.

“ Here come sit in my spot, I don’t mind being closer to the crowd” he said softly before getting up to move for Twinspot who gave a friendly smile towards him as she shook her head and laughed a bit “ no no its okay, looks like you're hiding as well” she said. “Mind if I join you?” She added before seeing Grenadier nod quickly and accept making room for her. 

“Thank you, I’m Twinspot and you are” she said looking at him with a smile as she moved her tail back and forth, in which the male answered quickly with his name “I’m Grenadier! It’s nice to meet you” he said, watching her with a nervous expression.  She had been the only female to approach him and she seemed to like the more quiet approach and he took note of that as the two laughed and chatted about the courtship season and how rough it had been for them so far in which the two started to bond. 

Twinspot soon got up from her spot as she looked around before nudging Grenadier to follow on which he did the two waddling into a thick brush with her leading the way, Twinspot had picked out a nesting area prior to joining the herd and wanted to show it to Grenadier to see what his thoughts would be on it and the purpose them courting for the season in which he had no idea was coming.

“Where are we going?” He said dodging bushes and shrubs that got in his way as they pushed through into an opening that was shaded by trees and a large nest was made with soft sticks and foliage, Twinspot had collected in which she turned around and smiled “what do you think, I made it before courting just incase that happened today” she said waiting for an answer from Grenadier who was stunned to see the well crafted nest she had made in which he was impressed.

“Wow! You made this, it's so well done” he said walking forwards and leaning down to sniff the nest which made Twinspot giggle at his reaction which was good, Grenaider wasn’t great at making a nest himself so he was glad that she had a keen eye for it. 

“I’m glad you do, it’ll be great for when our hatchlings come” she said before nudging him slightly and playfully, in which the male was caught off guard but in a good way “that’s if you want to court and pair this season” she added due to him being stunned.

“ of course I do, are you kidding” he said nudging her softly as he looked at the nest and waddled off before returning with a few flowers to the nest and he stepped back and smiled “there is my contribution, although it’s not much” he said shyly. The two smiled and both sat and enjoyed the nest that Twinspot had built along with the little flowers that Grenaider added with Twinspot having her tail curled around them.

They would bond over the next few days as they would stay away from the loud herd, they had chosen one another and to pair for the season so there was no reason for them to be around the courting herd as they had found one another. It would be their first clutch together and they would need to be prepared as having hatchlings around and being so big meant being careful and watchful. But for now they would need all the rest and bonding they could get because well bonded pairs made the best to raise hatchlings and their survival depended on Twinspot and Grenadier once they arrived and it wouldn’t be long.

Twinspot rested her head on Grenadier and smiled as she was content with her new partner and she was excited for their hatchlings, while he smiled and cuddled into her their armoured almost slotted together with how well they sat, now it was just time to wait for the arrival of hatchlings and to prepare for that. 

These two were ready or as ready as they would ever be, with a successful courtship season.
