Real World Memories
When I look at this picture of a few Dino's & a beloved book, I see a life & a set of memories. As cheesy or sappy as that is- I really can't bring myself to look at this image & see anything less than an interesting little story. Both because of the items that are here- but especially because of the items that aren't.
I've had so many Dino toys, books, and items otherwise to show my love and fascination with these partially forgotten creatures. But in the picture stands only a small collection of recent memories for my 23 year old life. My childhood parasaur toy is long lost to time, my lucky plastic stegosaur was never returned to me, my favorite childhood books & movie collections are hidden somewhere in a box at my uncles home; what sits before us is a gifted book that soothed a horrible time in my life, a funny little triceratops bought shortly after my mom's passing, a night light gifted to me for a birthday, and an old stegosaur I managed to bargain for at a convention that I haven't revisited in years.
Similarly to fossils, I look at this image and know there are things here that I can't see anymore; but I know how to work with what I have to paint a picture of what once was- a weird kid who really enjoys dinosaurs.
