“Move your fuzzy behind Aero,” Party City clumsily settles onto the large peeled branch next to her friend. Aerodynamic squawks indignantly scrambling to hop to the side just as Party goes to tug at his crest feathers. “At least mine isn’t spikey-” he cries out as another newcomer bowls into him, knocking Aerodynamic off and sending the other individual plummeting as well. The familiar loud cackling of Coconut Water fills the morning air sending a nearby flock of tiny birds scattering. Party joins in on the laughter, watching with amusement as the tapejara and tropeo flap their way back up to the perch.
“Good one Coco,” Party says, tapping her beak into Coconut’s much wider one. The brown and cream tropeo grins in satisfaction as both of the girl’s watch Aero mutter as he settles back into place. “Don’t be grumpy because you’re not aware of your surroundings,” Coconut says. “It was a good joke and you know it.” She playfully nibbles at Aerodynamic’s wing tip. “So what have you been up to lately?” Party City tilts her head curiously at Aerodynamic as he nips back at Coconut Water playfully. “Nothing really, tried to steal some food but you know how it is. How about you? Annoyed anyone this morning or have yet to find a victim?”
Party City sighs dramatically, dropping her head to rest her beak onto her pale green chest and allowing her wings to hang loosely off the side of the branch. “Woe is me,” she cries out. “I have yet to find a suitable target this fine spring morning. I think a lot of the locals are out celebrating or whatever.” This catches Coconut Water’s attention, she ceases annoying Aero to look up at Party City, her dark eyes wide and her little body buzzing. “Celebrating?” she inquires her eyes now darting to the expanse of woods below. Party City bobs her head. “Yep you know how it is this time of year with spring comes celebration thanks to the nasty cold passing.” Party turns her head back to Aero now who is peering at the sky above. “How about we go bully those you tried to steal some food from? If all of us chip in we can share the spoils.”
Aerodynamic contemplates this for a second, preening his green and brown feathers in thought. Coconut Water bounces up and down on the branch, the little tropeo grinning mischievously as the branch shakes beneath them. “Hey!” Both Aero and Party clack their beaks in annoyance but Coconut doesn’t seem to notice. “I saw someone on the way here! A big one, a fun one to mess with.” Coconut says rapidly, flexing her wings as if ready for takeoff further displacing Aero and Party who hobble further sideways along the branch. “A big one with food?” Aero perks up, at the same time Party asks “A big one to mess with?” The two share a glance but return their attention back to Coconut. “Uh… to mess with it didn’t have food. It is one of those long crested ones.” as she explains she squints into the nearby distance. “A para or whatever, anyway when I passed overhead I could hear them muttering and stuff to themself. I thought about going down but I was already running behind to meet up with you two.”
“I see,” Aero deflates a little at the loss prospect of food, but Party perks up even further, a devious gleam in her eye. “I say,” Party stretches her own wings. “We go pay them a visit. Even if there’s no food, a good bit of fun is always needed in the morning. Maybe we can attract something’s attention too.” Aero glances at Party and Coco and sighs giving a nod of his own. Satisfied Party turns her head back to Coconut. “Lead the way Coco!” Party announces loudly sending all three pteranodons into motion. They each launch themselves off the branch, clumsily climbing above the canopy as the smaller Coconut Water leads them in a loop then back in the direction she came. The flight was relatively short, Party City and Aerodynamic had to dive after Coconut Water when she suddenly dropped, vanishing into the canopy. Once the pair of tapejaras broke through the leaves that’s where they saw it, a large para paces in a clearing and is indeed muttering to itself. By the brightly colored crest Party assumes they’re a male. The trio land amongst the branches and curiously watch the para. He paces to and fro muttering before pausing, taking a deep inhale of breath, then begins singing of all things. The deep rattling sound echoing throughout the forest as the sound is amplified by his crest. They have all heard para’s songs before, no one on the islands haven’t, but this song? The nasally, off key notes send all three of the pteranodons into fits of uncontrollable laughter. It is now obvious to Party City, and the other two, that this para is trying to practice their song.
“Oh this is too perfect,” Coconut Water cackles, Aero and Party joining in. The para looks up as he hears the cacophony from above and glares. “What are you doing here? Get out, show.” He snaps with annoyance in his voice. “We’re just here to uh help with your singing, ya.” Party calls down. “Yes we are very good song critics.” Aerodynamic can hardly keep the laughter from his voice. The para watches them suspiciously, shifting on his back feet as he moves off to the side. “I somehow doubt that,” the para says flatly. “I don’t need any critics anyway, go find someone else to bother.” He says. He is clearly trying to end the situation, even turning his back to the hopping trio in the trees. This act triggers Coconut, who can no longer hold back. She launches from the branches and swoops down on the para, shoving down on the top of his crest with her horn earning an angry bellow from the large beast. She cackles maniacally as she swings back up towards the safety of the branches. He whirls on her glaring up at Coconut’s perch as he pushes on the trunk of the tree, causing it to sway only slightly. From the other side of the clearing, Aero and Party are conniving as the two take that moment to break into song. Voices screeching, notes shrill, sharp, and harsh as they purposefully do so off key and as horrible and throaty as the two can make it.
“Ooooh I’m a big ol para, a buffoon of a para, but you shall hear my song- such an unlovely song!~”
“My song will travel, oh so many miles, for my fat head makes it soooo!~”
“I fear no predator, no sharp teeth or death, for when they hear my song~”
    “Such an unlovely song~”
    “They shall die instead!~”
“Hmm, I don’t think that last line rhymed very well.” Aero taps his chin thoughtfully, Party pecks him as he criticizes her lyrics. The para, now raging at this, charges and slams the smaller tree Party City and Aerodynamic sit in. They squawk startled by the action as the two fight to tumble from the tree. Coconut Water takes the opening and swoops at the para, pecking at the dinosaurs crest, eyes, and even tail as the para clumsily turns to kick or bite the tropeo. One particular kick gets too close to Party City’s liking as it cracks the bark of one of the trees. She sends out a shrill short call, their retreat call, before launching into the air herself. Aerodynamic follows and Coconut Water climbs higher into the air. Up there, far out of the para’s reach and circling like vultures, they all called out the song again in even worse tones before the para marches off. The trio take this as a successful pestering and fly off, the sky full of their laughter and cries.
