Coming of age and growing stronger by the day was something normal in a young dinosaur's life, with most who pushed through were the strong and the weak were left behind. Coming head to head with a larger predator then yourself was always a risk that sat in the shadows and despite the warnings and danger being young sometimes got into the heads of those who thought they were above danger.

“Marl come on , are we even close yet to the labs? I thought those were a myth made up by those crazy dinosaurs who just thought they saw something down there” a hiss came from Grim who now was much older but still the youngest in the group of the small trio of cryos, in which Grim flicked his tail in annoyance when red eyes peered from the darkness and jumped out at him but it was just Ghostface who was trying to scare him.

“Why scared we are gonna see a monster down there Grim better watch your tail” Ghostface said letting out a cackle before being shoved out of the way by Marl who was already annoyed with his antics, in which she growled. “Shut up Ghostface, besides we haven’t seen anything so far so would you quit your bugging” she said before pushing past him in which Grim let out a laugh while Ghostface mocked Marl before catching up.

They had been in the upper levels of the labs and were moving deeper and deeper with each jont they did, with Marl in the lead followed by Ghostface and Grim who pestered one another the entire time, Grim was used to it at this point being the youngest and it usually led to Marl having to stick her snout in between them, but the three were on edge due to being in the labs for the first time.

It was dark and damp which made the air cold with the sounds of old equipment moving almost like guts that weren’t ever satisfied which gave the place an eerie feel to it. Little did the trio know they were being stalked by a much larger predator one they had never come across and how close to danger they were lurking, unaware of the presence they kept going further in with Ghostface hissing into the dark shadows and laughing when nothing showed.

“I’m starting to think everyone is just a chicken, there isn’t anything here” he said looking around not amused by the silence and deadness of the space, only dim lights flickering on where they stood, and Marl coming to a freeze as her scales shivered with uncertainty. 

“Stop moving, I think something is watching us” Marl said as Grim quickly made his way near her looking around. “What what is it” he said panicked before hearing a loud rumble from the dark area of the room where Ghostface was standing and that made him cower and back up slowly as a red tracker beep started to ring through the room. It was loud and ear piercing as heavy movement followed by a deep hiss got closer.

“Looks like my dinner has come right to me this time” a rough voice that sounded raspy and course with every word that left its jaws, soon enough deep blood red eyes followed as bloodied jaws came through into the light followed by a hunkering shadow, as it peered down on Ghostface who let out a hiss as his body told him he was in danger, all of them were in danger against a predator they had never seen.

“Ghostface!” Grim called out before he stepped back in fear seeing dark green scales that were littered with old scars that had healed over from previous battles, in which Marl let out a hiss as she backed up but felt a large tail that was wrapped around the entire room, they had stumbled into Geiger a horror of a acro who called the alpha labs her home and she didn’t tolerate intruders and would consume anything that made its way into her striking range which the trio happened to do, Geiger almost like a ghost and only seen when she wanted you to see her, she was a Monster.

“You.. you don’t scare me..”Ghostface managed to get out of his shaking jaws before Geiger moved towards him and snapped her jaws just missing the adolescent cryo who dodged at the incoming danger, Geiger was on the attack and she was going to make sure the trio would regret coming to the labs, that’s if they would escape her. It didn’t take long for Marl to shove Grim as Geiger’s tail slammed towards them as she moved to get up in the cramped area, the trio had size on their side and using it was going to be the best that they could do.

“You little pests, I am going to devour you” she roared going after Marl who was skittering to get her feet underneath her as she looked for the exit that they had come through since the labs were smaller and the large acro wouldn’t be able to get through but making sure she didn’t get eaten was also important, in which Ghostface and Grim were making a b line for that area as Grim was the first to dive into the small opening followed by Ghostface who let out a scared hiss when his shoulders got stuck and he couldn’t get through due to running at the wrong way.

“I’m stuck! I can’t get through” he said panicked his scales scraping against the stones as Grim grabbed behind his neck and pulled, due to this Marl’s escape route now was not as easy as she thought with her using broken stone pillars as cover for when Geiger snapped her jaws to try and grab the small cryo.

With a quick dash Marl felt the wind of broken pillar go flying past her as she dashed towards Ghostface turning her head down as she slammed into his tail pushing him through which made them all flop forwards with Grim on the bottom and letting out a groan, as Marl let out a sigh of relief.

“We made it no thanks to Ghostface” she said looking at Ghostface who was making sure his tail was bitten off as he sat up but jumped back when Geiger’s red eye peered into the small hallway.

“Consider yourselves lucky” she hissed before hulking off into the darkness from an entrance she was able to get through from years of rot of the facility that broke down. 

“Remind me to never listen to you again Ghostface on where to go” Grim said as he shook dust and dirt off from him before standing up and just happy to not be crushed or Geiger’s snack. 

“I vote we never come back here again” Grim added before looking around the hallway “this place sucks” he ended on, in which Marl caught her breath and nodded in agreement “I second that” she said before flicking dust off her. 

Ghostface let out a nervous chuckle as he pushed past them “ I think you two are right we should get out of this hell place, I don’t wanna run into the death machine again” he said before seeing Marl and Grim give him a annoyed look, besides it was his idea anyways to come to the labs. The trio would decide it was best to leave while they had the chance and would remember this moment for the next time if they ever decided to explore the labs again, it was to be on the look out for Geiger and whatever else lurked below the darker levels. 

After some travel they eventually reached the surface with Grim bugging Ghostface on how he almost got eaten due to getting stuck with the three letting out hisses and laughs together, they may have almost cut their lifespan short but it was fun nonetheless. It would be a moment they would carry into adult hood, it wouldn’t be the last time they would run into Geiger but for now it was best to stay out of trouble but for how long would they stick to that idea.

Marl stopped as she looked back at the large lab doors and felt uneasy but she was back on solid ground, well they all were and this would be a memory they would dwell on and always carry with them. Ghostface pushed pass as the two caught up to Grim who was wasting no time getting further away from the labs and that was something they all could agree on that was forsure.
