[Trade] [PAYMENT] Accidents Happen..
Nero finds herself running around with fellow juveniles of the herd, frolicking in the grassy plains and honking out excitedly -- other playfighting, some just rolling around in the warm grass. Nero herself was on the outskirts skipping along the river, the herd had moved further inland with the seasons changing slowly -- summer had come and soon they'd be moving further come fall. Nero was ever curious how migrating would be like, her granddam had told her how the herd had a certain path they'd follow every year when the warmth and cold would ebb and flow within the air. Could feel the warmth growing with summer settling into the air and the earth itself, how the mud dried faster and the water wasn't as cold as it had been in spring. With the sun so far in the sky it stayed warm longer, and Nero didn't want to fall asleep with the light still out when her granddam said it was time to sleep. Slowly growing a bit more rebellious in her behavior, her granddam would say she was taking after her sire more now as she grew up -- how she wasn't quite sure, maybe because she was growing bigger and growing into her coloring? She wasn't quite sure, granny wouldn't quite answer her when she asked, just chuckled and brushed her off.
The young styra shook her head, focusing back onto the present, looking around at her fellow playmates, wondering if she should join in on some of the playfights. Had heard learning to spar was important, hadn't gotten to those lessons yet because he grandsire was busy, but she could get a kickstart with her fellow juveniles! Nero looking to edge into the tussling, she was slowly growing out of her shell as she grew --- wouldn't dream of trying to insert herself into the play of others even if they grew up together, were even nestmates some of them. But now she was growing bolder, nothing like quite a few of her older cousins, at least what her granddam called the older styras, the adolescents were rowdy and loud, something that honestly spooked Nero sometimes. They weren't quite careful either, she almost got knocked over numerous times as a hatchling by them as juveniles themselves. Remembered the anger that came from her granddam and sire when they heard her cries and saw the roughhousing juveniles just a few lengths away from her. Her thoughts leaving her as a heard head slammed into her shoulder, a cry falling from her maw and she turned around in shock to see one of her nestmates crouched besides her and wagging their tail. Eyes brightening once seeing she was being invited to play, had been awkwardly standing amongst the various pairs of styras play sparring amongst themselves. Nero let out an excited grunt and was quick to bump her horn against her nestmate's own, the two locking into their own practice spar --- pushing and shoving at each other with their horns. The knocking of keratin and their skulls was something both familiar and odd to her, had bumped heads plenty of times with her family, it was how they greeted each other and shared affection -- but actually sparring was something different. Made her head spin a bit when their heads collide and the ringing of horns clashing together.
Nero snorted, shaking her head of the dizziness she felt, digging her feet into the dirt below and storming forward to clash with her playmate once more. Clashing horns and hearing the various other knocks of other horns clashing together amongst her nestmates. It reminded her of the times trees would lose their branches during storms, the cracking of wood and bark, then the large crash as they fell onto the ground below the tree itself. Nero herself pausing in her charge when hearing a familiar thundering roar, not of a carnivore but of the storm -- had seen how the lightning would brighten the sky, even if it was night, and how many clouds would blot out the sky as it rained down. The young styra herself feeling the droplets of water starting to drop from the clouds above them, could hear the adults calling out to them, to return to their nests and wait out the storm. The air full of honks, grunts, and that distant thunder -- the worse of the storm still a distance away from them luckily. Nero was turning around to run back to her own family when her nestmate had pushed her aside and the young styra went tumbling onto her side. She tried her best to find purchase on the ground that grew ever so slippery as the rain came down faster.
She let out distressed noises, honking and grunting, but the thunder was drowning out her noises, and her fellow juveniles were busy running off, none looked back. Nero called out, scrambling within the muddy bank of the river she had just been playing next to not that long ago. Distressed and just wanting to get back to her family, the storm was scary and she didn't want to be out here alone for any longer than she needed to be. She tried to make purchase on the slippery ground, but the slope seemed to grow bigger and bigger, feeling more impossible to climb back up. Could hear the distressed noises of her granddam and sire, out of sight from her but she could hear them. Called out to the two, scared of the quickly darkening sky, the sun being shut out and the pounding water seemed to sweep her further towards the river below -- and just as she could see the horned frills of her family, the dirt she had held onto slipped from her grasp and she slipped into the river below. A distressed cry falling from her before falling into the river, just barely seeing the sliver of her granddam's face, how horrified she looked as Nero was quickly washed away by the river -- her last memory from then being the faint cries of her granddam and sire as everything went dark.
