Courtship season was in full swing with many dinosaurs coming together to impress one another to rear and raise the next generations, nesting grounds and long journeys along with the clash of others to prove that courtship was for them making sure that all eyes were watching and on the. Some were seasoned while others were new to the courtship dance, herbivores always had it peacefully most of the time while carnivores used their teeth to show off.

Deep in the dark wet caves laid blue eyes scanning the area as silent footsteps moved across the rocky floor. Riot usually hid away when it was courtship Season as he was experienced and often got Bored of it leaving only the ones who went out of Their way to find him a chance but it seemed quiet for now and no other of his kind had found His hiding place or so he thought.

Downwind purple scales flashed as movement followed the footprints left behind by Riot, Monster had been tracking him in hopes to lure and impress him once he finally found him, and in his jaws he carried a large dead herbivore that he caught off guard while tracking Riot.

Riot sighed as he laid down on the cool rocks with his feathers flaring in comfort before turning his head at the sound and scent of Monster approaching, how did one of his kind find him this far out and that quick, but he was interested something was different about the scent,  only Time would tell and it all depended on how Monster approached the red feathered male.

“Step forwards and show yourself” Riot said with a hiss as he watched at the entrance spotting Monster approach the purple scales flashing long with his dark eyes, lined by white scales on his head and crest, it was another cryo and had an interesting pattern and array of colors to his scales

Which caught Riots attention.

“I brought you this” Monster said as he dropped off the small herbivore on the ground not to far from Riot, Monster was intrigued about Riot and now needed to impress him more than just a meal but with cryos some scuffling was always something that happened to test one another.

“I see well let’s see the strength behind your actions” Riot hissed as he leaned down sniffing the dead herbivore, a meal was a start but he wouldn’t be won over that easy especially from a new cryo he never seen before, Monster needed to be tested if he were to even consider raising a clutch with Monster.

Monster growled and hissed, stepping forwards towards Riot with his claws open closing the gap between one another, Maybe Riot wasn’t all right. Monster wouldn’t just pair with anyone he also wanted to make sure Riot was tested and strong enough, courtship had started and it was about to be a dangerous dance.

“Watch it” Riot hissed as he snapped towards Monster who met the red feathered with a swift  snap biting his upper snout as Riot let out a painful

Hiss, the two now intertwined as they sized one another up with Monster being much larger than Riot, Riot was liking what he was dealing with so far but it was far from over.

Monster shook off the snaps and growls that, Riot hissed as they stepped back and matched each other’s movement and flashed their crests to one another, it was a harsh but heated dance that the two would perform together over and over again. One would correct the other and the other would Follow with Riot being the one to lead and Monster would follow in suite.

It was Monster's first time courting and he seemed to have a good grasp as Riot was not new to this and had paired with others for each season that had come prior. After awhile Riot dipped

His head and laid down sniffing the gift that Monster had brought inspecting it as it showed that Monster could hunt and provide for their clutch.Monster kept his distance but kept his eyes on Riot

Thinking of other ways to impress the red feathered cryo but it seemed like he was enjoying the gift he had hunted for him. An idea came to mind as Monster got up and walked out of the cave before coming back with sticks and other foliage in his jaws.

He wanted to show Riot he could build a nest that would keep the hatchlings warm and protected as he watched them moving back and forth, And Riot was super impressed as he watched Monster carefully place each stick and foliage in a small spot in the cave entrance.

“Come take a look” Monster said with a stick in his jaws before placing it down and stepping back, Riot Got Up and approached coming over to inspect it in which he saw no flaws with it as he smiled and nodded “well aren’t you good at building nests it seems” Riot said turning to Monster and licking his cheek gently.

“Well I accept” Riot also added before playing down in the nest and waiting for Monster to join him, it was a rough start but the two seemed to get along with one another and bond after showing off to one another which was good, it made courtship easy and smooth. Besides the two would be tested over the next few weeks and days to come when the sound of little hatchlings would be coming from the cave.

Monster nodded and joined Riot, returning the gentle lick on his snout before cozying up to Riots feathers, now paired and enjoying one another’s company they would need to prepare big time for when their clutch would hatch and the two had a lot to attend to for when the time came , but for now some rest and shut eye from all the courtship and impressing the two did for one another. These two would be great in rearing and they knew it, until the hatchlings came and it was now just time to wait.
