Ring around the dacen

As the four anteos waited for the museum doors to open, Tarantella, the one with yellow and pink bioluminescence, let out a heavy sigh.
“Come on, I want to get in.” she groaned, as impatient as ever.
“We will not get in any faster just because you are complaining.” Rascal, the sandy brown, piebald male huffed, with the lighter Piraña chuckling at his comment.
“I know that, but I will resort to complaining anyway to make time go faster!” Tarantella explained.
“Why did you even come with us then?” Järker asked her, but before he could get an answer he was disrupted by a familiar voice, his green tropeo friend. “Excuse me, just gonna talk to him for a bit.”

Tarantella sighed as Järker turned to his flier friend instead of her, not that she demanded his attention specifically, but they were in the middle of a conversation! It was simply rude to just walk off, she thought. Piraña noticed that Tarantella was annoyed so she rolled over and tackled her friend, causing Tarantella to almost topple over.
“What did you do that for?” the biolum anteo hissed to her pale friend.
“You looked like you needed a distraction!” she chuckled, and Rascal nodded in agreement.
“You definitely woke up on the wrong side of your shelter today, you need to loosen up a bit.” he agreed.

Before Tarantella could get too worked up, the doors finally opened and an oviraptor was starting to speak. She was not paying much attention to it though, but she assumed he was welcoming everyone. Whatever. She just wanted to get inside and see if she could cause any chaos.
After the oviraptor had finally quieted down, Järker asked the group if he could join his other friends, which Tarantella agreed to, though making sure he wouldn’t bail on the promised hot spring spa the four of them had planned for the evening.

Rascal took the lead as the three of them followed the crowd inside, thankfully people gave them enough space to not need to bite any ankles to feel comfortable, so he was rather pleased. Well inside the museum, the air was filled with the smell of popcorn and various grilled foods such as meat and vegetables. It was a delightful mix of smells for sure, and Rascal was more enticed by perhaps grabbing a nice piece of meat rather than play some random game, but Piraña's loud gasp made him regain focus. He looked over at her to see where she was looking, and spotted a large lane of sorts with sticks sticking up from the fake grass carpet that had been placed there. By the start of it all and next to a stall with model airplanes and space merch, a gray and brown, spiked oviraptor with black spots could be seen with a happy expression.
“Are you interested in participating in our ring toss game, perhaps?” the oviraptor asked excitedly, looking between the three anteos with their dark teal eyes.
“Yes! Me and my friends would love to join!” Piraña replied and ran up to the oviraptor and promptly placed herself just behind the white line on the fake grass.
“Well, I guess we do.” Tarantula scoffed with a small smile on her face. Piraña always knew how to make her feel happy when she was being unreasonably grumpy. Now all that was left for Tarantella to think of a way to make this game less of a game, and more.. Chaotic.
Rascal just chuckled and happily trotted along to the start line as well, placing himself between Tarantella and Piraña.
“I am so happy to have you three here with me today! My name is Slug and I will be your host for this game! Your goal is to toss these rings onto the sticks, any stick you want really, but they all give different amounts of points so make sure you have a good aim if you care about a high score!” the cheery oviraptor explained as she handed out rings to the trio.

Tarantella’s eyes lit up as she saw the rings. She had a perfect plan to have even more fun than to participate the intended way, she would just have to wait for a good opportunity. In the meantime, she figured she could thorpe the rings at the airplane propellers rather than the sticks, just for fun.
Piraña, on the other hand, was fully on board to play as intended, though she had no intention to lose so she glared over at Rascal with a competitive spark in her eye. It was game on. Rascals look said it all as well. This was going to be a competition like none other.
“I do recommend taking turns to avoid accidentally bumping rings away for each other, as it could negatively impact the results.” Slug suggested before they had started.
“That is probably a good idea, thank you Slug. I would not want her to ruin my score.” Rascal replied with a taunting grin on his face as he glanced over at Piraña again.
Piraña huffed at her piebald friend and decided to declare dominance by making the first throw, and she was lucky enough, or skillful if you asked her, to land on the stick with the hughes amount of points right away.
“Hah! Take that, Rascal!” she cheered, with Slug clapping her spindly hands at her good throw.
“Well done!” she cheered. “Now, will you let your friend talk to you like this, hm?” she also added, which was only more fuel on the fire.
“No I will not.” Rascal snorted before throwing his own ring, landing just barely to the side of a stick and bouncing away, leaving him with no points at all for now.
“Haha, you missed!” Piraña cackled. “Now it’s your turn Tarantella!”
Rascal disapprovingly mumbled something incoherent to himself, all  that could be made out was something about a reflection and a plane window, but neither Piraã or Tarantella cared enough to listen.
Tarantella smiled before grabbing her red ring, and she tossed it as hard as she could with it bouncing off of a small plane cockpit window and promptly flying off. Somehow it did still land on a plane propeller, just not the one she had aimed for. While it was fully intentional to throw the ring in that direction, Tarantella figured she would pretend it was an accident to avoid a scolding, for now. So she could prep for yet another, more fun throw.
“Sorry about that. Did not realise how easy they were going to be to throw.” she lied, and Slug smiled gently.
“It’s okay! Now you know to be more careful.” she said calmly.
Before SLug even had time to tell Piraña that it was once again her turn, she threw her very next ring away and landed on yet another stick, though one with much lower points than her first one. She was disappointed, but didn’t say a thing. She could not let Rascal know her confidence was tanked, so she just shot him a grin.
Rascal stuck his tongue out in response before throwing his second ring, and it promptly landed in the top points one that she had previously hit, so he leaped up into the air in excitement with Slug honking happily for him.
“Very good! You can surely catch up now!” she cheered.
“I sure can! And I will absolutely win!” Rascal happily howled, causing Piraña to wrinkle her nose disapprovingly.

It was once again time for Tarantella to shine, and for this toss, she had spotted a perfect target.. A scruffy reddish brown and black dacentrurus among the crowd. Excellent.. She charged up and threw the ring across half the room, between various airplanes and helicopters, and it landed perfectly on one of his tail spikes.
“HEY, WHO DID THAT!?” the dacen angrily shouted as he looked around, only to seconds later spot the ring toss area.
“Eep!” Slug yelped and looked absolutely horrified before promptly taking off, she had no plans to argue with an angry, armed herbivore.
Tarantello stood there, proud of her mischief, and wagged her tail, all while the dacen was storming closer to them. Piraña and Rascal backed off slightly to avoid being caught in the crossfire. They sat down a few meters away to observe, just in case they had to intervene and protect their friend.
“It was you then, I take it?” the dacen huffed as it stopped right in front of Tarantella.
“It sure was.” she grinned. “What are you gonna do about it?”
“Seeing as I do not want a ban from this place I will do nothing to harm you here, but be warned.. If I ever see you outside of here you are TOAST!” he growled before flicking the ring off right in Tarantella’s face. “Now SCRAM!”

Tarantella looked offended but she knew better than to piss someone like that off more than necessary, so she turned around and walked off to Rascal and Piraña.
“Some people have no sense of humour.” she sighed.
