Sitka - Kavyrie

Warm air puffed into gentle plumes beyond a black and white snout, quiet breaths accompanied by soft footsteps as a young utahraptor padded down a long dark corridor. The path ahead was barely illuminated with the fading light of the sun through windows draped with overgrown foliage, repetitive clicking of talons against tile slowly beginning to drown out beneath alien sounds the deeper into the building she ventured. Sitka had never heard such noises before as she cautiously crouched against a doorframe, peering out from behind the frame into an expansive room. A strange clinking sound echoed from one corner of the wing, an occasional crash, bang, or whistle resounding through the air.

What... was this?

Dangling strings of light were hanging overhead from what almost looked like.. metal birds of all sizes and colors, twinking brilliantly against the reflective materials. Round blue eyes stared up at the strings, her head tipping to the side as her gaze followed along and it dawned on her that they were arranged in a way that they were creating paths through the area leading to different spaces. Beyond the scent of metal and rust she could smell quite a number of individuals throughout the aviation wing. The combination of new sounds, sights and smells were overwhelming to the little utah, the female jumping and skittering on the smooth floor as a long honk interrupted her from her thoughts.

"Welcome!! Oh it just warms my heart that all my hard work has been so appreciated! My name is Cheron, please, play to your heart's content! I've spent so much time making sure that there is something for everyone- I'll be keeping an eye on you, if you win any of the games come to me and I'll be sure to reward you!" A very animated oviraptor honked and cheered, darting off into the room before she had the chance to react.

"G-Games?" Sitka blinked, tapping a large hooked claw anxiously as she caught sight of several other dinosaurs at different stations.

Smelt - AberrantKapro

The brown and caramel coloured raptor was running around excitedly to check everything at the carnival out, her yellow, sharp eyes scanning the environment carefully. She wanted to make sure that she found the most exciting games to try out so she knew what to drag her cranky partner along to, she knew that he would not come along willingly and that she would need a good reason to be able to successfully convince him to leave his rugged home and come with her.

She also took the time to admire the beautiful locale, all of the museum aircrafts were super cool, and she was so curious how they would have been used once upon a time. Most of them were in pretty good condition, all things considered. Not that Smelt really had any idea what a plane in good versus bad condition looked, but she was impressed regardless whenever nature had not had the chance to overtake something from the time before her.

She had a small smile on her face as she took a break from frantically finding fun games to play, just taking everything in. Everyone seemed so happy to just be there and hang out, though some dinos were for sure sore losers and made their defeat loudly known, which Smelt found very amusing.

Among the chaos she spotted another utah, a light one with mostly dark extremities. Her body language screamed anxiety and nervousness, so Smelt’s very first instinct was to run in to the rescue and do her best to lighten the mood. She put on a big, welcoming smile and did her best to calmly approach the lone raptor.

”Hello there! I can tell you are not super comfortable here, would you mind if I tag along? I can distract you if you get too overwhelmed!" Smelt suggested, still with a smile on her face. She hoped that the young raptor would approve of her company, any opportunity to make a new friend was enticing to her.
“I would love to have some company as I try out some of these games.” she also added with a warm, welcoming tone.

Sitka's head snapped up as brown shape emerged from the surroundings and approached her, soft nostrils flaring slightly as she was addressed and the oviraptor from before disappeared back into the surrounding crowds.

“W-What? I'm not nervous!” She snorted defensively, her skin feeling hot in embarrassment as she stared up at the feathered utah. Her stance relaxed a fraction as the stranger requested her company to try some games together, shifting her weight between her feet before giving a small nod in agreement.

“Sorry.. I'm not used to crowded places like this. I can play a game with you.” She gave a small nervous smile back as she decided that the other female didn't seem to have any ulterior motives, looking around them for a game that looked easy enough and fun to try. Was there really any point to these games besides seeing who could do them the best? There were several pools with things like fruits and little plastic ducks floating in them to try to catch, or variations of throwing an item to hit,  knock over or break something. She tapped a claw against the hard ground in thought, glancing at her new feathered companion to see if she seemed to be drawn to any particular option.

"Uh, this one looks interesting? I think you're supposed to try to get the ball into the hoop... I think it'll work if I toss it to you and you hit it in." She decided, looking to Smelt to make sure she was interested in giving it a try.

Smelt happily nodded at the stranger's suggestion. This game should be a piece of cake, especially with some top tier coordinated teamwork!

The Oviraptor running this game came up, as it intended to explain the game and rules to them but Smelt was too eager. She snatched the basket of balls and gave it to her new companion with a grin on her face.

“Let's do this!” she said and wagged her tail, ready to smack whatever ball the other utah threw her way.

The Oviraptor seemed slightly offended that they didn't listen, and that they definitely weren't following his intended rules, but Smelt didn't care, not this time.

As her pale companion threw ball after ball, with just enough time between them for Smelt to reposition, she fired it off towards target after target. She of course didn't hit most of the time, but she was having a blast none the less.

“Would you like to swap places so you can hit some too?” she asked after a while, she didn't want to steal all the fun for herself, after all.

Sitka couldn’t help herself from smiling and relaxing as Smelt got into their game, doing her best to toss the balls one at a time at her. The brown utah’s enthusiasm and personality were infectious, grinning ear to ear as she put more oomph into her tosses to her new friend. She paused with a ball in her mouth to toss when Smelt asked her if she wanted to try, placing it back into the basket and glancing at the targets before nodding.
“Okay, sure.” She nodded, skirting around the brown female and getting into position. She missed the first couple of tosses, but she felt her tail slap against the next ball followed by a thump and clatter as she knocked over a can.
“I did it!” The small female gasped, feeling giddy as she prepped to do it again.
