Rumbles and harsh smoke clouds boiled from the black and ashy crust of the ground surrounded by bright orange lava pools that would burst at the slightest rumbles or movement, but that was normal for the lava lands on the island. While others stayed away and avoided the harsh living conditions other dinosaurs used, it was grounds for nesting along with courting and it seemed like a familiar face had traveled back to do just that but he had to find who he was looking for first and she never made it easy for him.

Courtship was a dangerous dance between the large carnivores as it could go south easily if not treated with delicacy and care, Termina Knew that as he sniffed the ground picking up the female he courted last season he was getting closer and closer with each step his bulky body rippling as he moved forward and eventually his eyes spotted a deep Glow that moved throughout the darkness of the lava lands it was Doom and she had already picked up on his presence.

Rubble shook as Red eyes glared from the darkness and thick smoke filled the air around Termina with the scent of Doom getting stronger and closer before a sharp voice echoed from the smoke “long time no see Termina, come to fancy me again?” She growled lowly before snapping at his face through the smoke which caused the male to back up and let out a roar remembering how dangerous the last time he was here was.

Doom had a soft spot for the large male but she never made it easy for him especially if he wanted to prove they could pair again for the season, they had a great successful season rearing young the last time and it seemed like Termina would have to prove himself once again to Doom which the male was prepared for.

“Seems like you were waiting for my arrival Doom, perhaps excited and hopefully I’d come to the lava lands?” He said hissing through his teeth as he moved closer to her as she tilted her head at him when he spoke but was met with a grin afterwards. Seemed like the two were in agreement and the best way to prove yourself was to hunt in which Doom and Termina had done time and time

Again with it usually winning Doom over.

“Well shall we go find some prey to sink our teeth into” Termina said as he growled walking ahead with Doom quickly getting up to follow him, if Termina and her could successfully hunt it would prove to each other they could pair the be part of the courtship but hunting wasn’t easy on the lava islands and was a danger in itself.

Deep into the lava islands the two large acros stalked a large shuno herd that had been enjoying the the heat that the lava flow had provided after their long journeys and the giants were also in the midst of their courting seasons so most bulls were unaware of the lurking danger that stalked the herd which made it a good spot to hunt for Doom and Termina.

“Good choice Termina, now let’s see how

We do” Doom growled using the thick smoke to cover her glowing markings while Termina let out a sigh and hunkered down watching the herd as two bulls stuck out to the side of the herd busy sparing with one another and unaware of

The danger, their plan was working now it was just to bring the Titan down.

Doom let out a roar as she rushed from smoke towards the young shuno bulls who now panicked started to head back to the herd but one of the two was stubborn due to the season and stomped its feet letting out a below facing Doom who stopped and planted her feet before letting out a loud roar as the herd moved away with the larger members forming a circle around smaller and weaker members.

Termina waited as he watched Doom carry out her plan as he waited for the herd to back before making his entrance and rushing into the side of the young bull as it was focused on Doom which caused the large Shuno to misstep and fall to the ground in which Doom carried out a swift and killing bite to its neck with the movement of the shuno stopping instantly and Termina shaking off the harsh blow himself. 

“Impressive” Doom growled before digging into the kill her jet black scales covered with blood as she downed large chunks, In which Termina nodded and joined in on the kill, it seemed the two hadn’t lost their bond and it was a lot stronger then the first time they had paired in which Doom almost killed the large male. Afterwhile Two headed back deeper into the lava flows that lead to a hidden cave in which Doom had picked out as she dropped bones into a pile of branches and broken sticks, Termina looked around the cave and smiled as he remembered this is where they raised their last clutch and he was happy she had picked it again for two.

“Good spot to pick, worked well for us last season”

He said tired from the hunt and feeling the warmth on his scales from the heat, in which he was joined by Doom who laid her head over his back. With a stronger bond and courtship successful the two large acros were now preparing for the arrival of hungry hatchlings that would hatch in the weeks to come, and boy did they need the rest since the two usually reared a large amount of offspring at a time.

“Too another successful season Termina” Doom grumbled and nudged her nest before resting her head down on the ground next to his and closing her eyes, the once dangerous dance now a bond that would carry out forever. Termina just happy he didn’t almost get eaten this time.
