“I told you.” The brown Tapejara with the white, huge markings said. Skäck had a huge grin on his face as he passed by the skyscraper. It wasn’t impossible for him to land on the roof of the skyscraper but the winds were so perfect at the moment that he preferred to glide above the two Utahraptors. “The view up here is amazing!”
“Wow!” The female, spikey Utahraptor looked over the railing that surrounded the roof. “This is really amazing! I can’t believe we’ve never been this high up before.” She took a careful leap up onto the ledge, the railing helping her keep steady against the wind.
“Be careful.” The crested Utahraptor yelled at her. He was walking around the roof looking at any interesting stuff that might be hidden in the cracks. “I bet Skäck is too weak to catch you!” He taunted the Tapejara above him.
“Haha, I bet I could catch you.” He too laughed, this was just common jibberjabber. He had most definitely heard worse. “But I wouldn’t.” The Tapejara laughed as he dived down the side of the building. Letting the wind form a tunnel between him and the building and push him away from the edge of it. He trusted the wind. He had been around it for years. He knew how to move to make the tiniest bits of change. Folding out his wings to get a sudden lift and he was already on his way up again. He only needed a few strong flaps of his wings to carry himself all the way back to the top of the building.
This time he landed on the ledge, steadying himself against the wind slightly and laughed.
“Bet you both wished you could do that.”
“That’s amazing!” Pebble jumped down from the ledge to greet him on the roof. “You went so fast.”
Skäck gave a small smile as he was trying to look nonchalant at the compliment.
“Eh, I bet there’s faster Tapes everywhere. You’re probably pretty slow Skäck.” Alucard laughed. Skäck chuckled at his response.
“You wanna try it?” Alucard looked pretty serious at the question.
“I can’t fly, stupid.”
“I know.” Skäck walked past him with a big smirk.
“Both of you are stupid.” Pebble sounded tired of their snide remarks. “Instead you should appreciate the view.” She stretched her arms out against the wind. Letting it flow past her. “How often do we get to see this type of view really.”
The sun was setting between the buildings creating heavy, contrasting shadows against the warm, golden sky. Alucard and Skäck both stopped messing with each other and joined her side instead. Taking in the entire view. It was something for sure. The way the sun glared against the windows. Not even Skäck could fly between those buildings thanks to that.
“Wow, just wow.” Alucard added in a slight whisper.
“You could say that again.” Skäcl added. “I’ve seen many things from high up in the air, nothing quite like this.”
As the sun slowly made it’s way down the horizon it because harder to count the buildings. The shadow covered some, creating the illusion that they didn’t even exist anymore in the pitch darkness, yet any buildings that got covered in the suns rays were shining brightly in golden orange and red. There were even a few hints of purple and pink as the sunrays collided with the few, think clouds that covered the skye above it. Soon all of this would fall into darkness.
“Should we head down?” Skäck asked, he could fly down easily even in darkness, it wasn’t really his safety he was thinking off. It would be hard to traverse down the staircases in the building in complete darkness.
“I want to stay up here and keep looking out over the sunset.” Pebble didn’t let her gaze travel from the sigh before her. A few flocks of birds seemed to appear out of nowhere as they left the strong shadows and entered into the sunlight between the buildings.
“Yhea, like - I wanna stay here all night.” Alucard added excitedly. “It’s probably better than going all the way back already. We just got up here.”
Skäck let out a small laugh. “Then it’s settled. We all stay up here for at least one night. Are you brave enough for it?” He nudged Alucard with one of his wings as he taunted him.
“Are you?” He asked back in a similar tone and gave a false chomp at the Tapejara.
“Of course I am, I sleep up here all the time.” Skäck pushed out his chest proudly. It was true, he often would sleep on the roof tops, or something inside one of the rooms on the top floors of the buildings. But he hadn’t ever had a companion up here that wasn’t another flier.
“It’s gonna be fun.” Pebble smiled, the other two - for a moment - stopped play fighting each other again and smiled back.
