[Gift] Seasonal | Don't Fall | Love at first Sight
Åobei had followed his leader, Sonjadore, as she left the museum where they lived temporarily. He was quite sure she didn’t need an escort. She was one of the Matriarchs after all. A leader. Stronger than any of them. But he did like this one on one time. He was more of a traveller. He walked around the land spreading the wisdom of the Holy bone to other dinosaurs. He knew both the Matriarchs were kind and tried their best to give him as much time when he returned. But they had many people to look out for. He did not hold them in contempt when they couldn’t spare him any more time.
Sonjadore would talk most of their travels. Even when they started climbing the side of the mountain she would keep her composure and talk to him about anything. Despite her stubby legs as a Styra she traversed the uphill side of the mountain with ease. It made Åobei amazed as he, much bigger than her, still had trouble keeping up. She would however wait for him if he needed to. It always fueled him to keep going.
As they reached the first resting place they were surprised to find another Dacenturus like Åobei up there. Unlike his dark tabby the Dacenturus was green with lighter strokes.
“Good day.” Åobei was taken back to reality by Sonjadore's voice as he realised he had been staring at the other Dacenturus. “I am Sonjadore, this is Åobei.” Åobei lowered his head in a slight bow as his name was mentioned. The other Dacenturus also lowered its head before speaking.
“Hello, I am Grönsåpa.” Åobei couldn’t help but to think that the other's name was as beautiful as he looked. In the corner of his eye he could see Sonjadore give him a meaningful look.
“You're travelling to the top of the mountain as well?” Sonjadore said as she laid down a bit from the edge. Åobei doubted that she actually needed the rest but he sure did.
“Yes. I’ve heard the view is amazing from up at the top. I wanted to see it for myself. I underestimated how heavy the climb would be however. I am thankful for these resting places along the way.”
“Yes, I can only imagine the view from the top as well. Given how beautiful it is here.” Åobei didn’t look over the edge as he spoke to Grönsåpa. His words exited him faster than he intended. He didn’t admire the view. Something Sonjadore noticed immediately. She kept a small laugh from getting too loud.
“You are climbing by yourself?” Sonjadore asked as she gave Åobei a sneaky look. She could tell his thoughts a mile away.
“Yes, as of now I am climbing all by myself.”
“Well then, why don’t you join us?” Sonjadore’s tone was cheerful as she invited the Dacent to join them in climbing the mountain.
“Ah, I wouldn’t want to intrude.” He looked away for a second as he spoke.
“Don’t worry, don’t worry. They say it’s easier to climb a mountain in good company.”
Åobei couldn’t keep his eyes off Grönsåpa as he waited for a response. He really hoped that he would join them. Grönsåpa seemed to consider it for a while before speaking again.
“That would be lovely.” He nodded as he spoke. Åobei could’ve jumped up into the air if he didn’t actively try to compose himself in the company of Sonjadore.
“If everyone is rested should we keep on walking?” Sonjadore looked around at them both. Åobei didn’t feel as if he had rested enough, not really, but when Grönsåpa nodded his head he too nodded his head. He could see Sonjadore snicker in the corner of his eye. But to some extent he didn’t care. He was ready to climb the entire mountain in one go if he needed to this time. He didn’t want to inconvenience either Sonjadore or Grönsåpa.
As they climbed, Sonjadore and Grönsåpa did most of the talking. Åobei walked slightly behind them. There wasn't a big distance between them. He could still be in the conversation even if he wasn’t adding much to it. He kept moving his glance to the edge of the mountain trail. Looking out over the distance as they all climbed higher and higher. It truly was beautiful.
“Look at that.” He heard Sonjadore's voice. “We’ve reached the top.” They had rested once more as they climbed. Neither Åobei or Grönsåpa could’ve kept up with Sonjadore.
“Wow.” Åobei gasped as he too reached the top just seconds after the other two and looked out over the landscape. “It was worth the climb.”
“Absolutely.” Grönsåpa added in awe.
They stood there for a few minutes as they looked out over the valley filled with rivers that crawled across it creating swivel, beautiful lines in the otherwise green and yellow landscape.
