[Seasonal] Supply Run

Phobos swore after he got out of the Alpha Labs he would never again go into a Morpheus facility. Yet here he was. To be a little fair to himself he had ended up in this facility kind of on accident, because he wasn't alone, and he was just following the other two dinosaurs that dragged him along. It wasn't the Alpha Labs, so how bad could it be? His company was Romeo, the royal and ripple marked Suchomimus, and Kyanos the crowned and barred Utahraptor. 

Kyanos was easily the bravest of the three, well used to seeing things the labs hid away, he was also the smallest and acted as a scout for the other two. With Kyanos’ scouting, fallen ceilings, blocked corridors and other debris were no match for the larger carnivores to get by. They did have to get a little extra creative to get to their destination but when they did the door was free for Romeo and Phobos to break open. 

Immediately Phobos’ nose wrinkled, the trio of dinosaurs met with a terrible stench. Phobos has the better nose out of all of them so he was particularly offended. “What is that scent? It smells worse than death. It smells worse than that strange dog I saw on that ship. “ 

“Not sure. “ Kyanos would say simply, his crest up in curiosity. 

“There is only one way to find out…” Romeo would nudge the smaller Utahraptor through the doorway. 

Kyanos squawked a bit and put his wings out. “Easy there big guy this is a lab, don't be in such a rush! “ He turned to face them as he tucked in his arms and tapped his feet a bit. “Since you big guys are so scared I'll go first and make sure there's no Nidhogg. “ By that he didn't mean Nidhogg itself, just something big and hungry. 

Just like he said he would do Kyanos would go ahead of the other two theropods, scouting ahead with quiet ease. He wasn't afraid of what was in the room, even if it would make most uneasy. The room was what was left of former specimen storage. Wet specimens, dry specimens, bones, what used to be work stations with instruments and records. “Wow, “ Kyanos drew out, studying an unknown dinosaur in a storage tank. “I didn't even know that was possible…” he called back to the other two. “Phobos, there's one with three heads!” 

With no context that got a startled noise out of Phobos, the Albertosaurus obviously thinking the worse. Romeo shot him a questioning look before Kyanos clarified. 

“It's dead, don't worry!” Kyanos would continue on and before long felt the room was safe enough. “You can come in now. “ 

“Okay, coming in. “ Romeo would return before he started inside. He wasn't as cautious as Phobos who shrunk down some and followed the Suchomimus. The Suchomimus wasn't as scared as he was disgusted by what he saw inside of the room, not used to seeing these things and treating them like the morbid horror they were. His lips were wrinkled, eyes squinted as they walked by a wet specimen. The specimen's empty, dead eyes looking past him and Phobos who hides behind him. “So is this like where you came from?” Romeo would ask. He had never grown up in a lab like Phobos and Kyanos.

“It's similar, yes. “ Phobos glanced the wet specimen but he didn't look long, keeping his head down. Eyes on the floor for the most part and following close to Romeo so as to not get lost while avoiding looking at the specimens. Even looking to the floor wasn't a saving grace for Phobos in this laboratory they were traversing, the crumbling structure had knocked some specimens and other works to the floor. He and Romeo were forced to part a bit and carefully navigate around the skeleton of what seemed to be a very large iguanodon, Nidhogg large, that had been inflicted with the Thorny mutation. The skeleton was massive and Phobos was glad it was long dead. He didn't exactly know what had been going on in this lab, maybe it had been a place for Atlantis and the Alpha Labs to compare and combine their notes. His nose scrunched up a bit, lips pulling thin and he thought of the carnage that could have happened had this specimen gotten free of this lab. He shivered at the thought, glad the humans had either put it down… or it has starved in this place clearly lacking of the plant life to sustain it. 

Phobos halted in his tracks when he almost walked straight into a wet specimen tank, making a startled noise as he looked up and saw the…what was it? Looking at him. “Can we…get what we came for and get out of here?” He'd ask, reminded of the Alpha Labs and uncomfortable. 

“Take it easy big guy, if Zoon was right we should be able to find what we're looking for soon and we'll be out of here in no time. “ Kyanos would try to soothe the Albertosaurus. He was ever unbothered by everything despite how disturbing the room was. 

Romeo himself was a mixed bag of everything,disturbed but well put together , disgusted, feeling a little distressed. He had never really confronted their origins as laboratory experiments. He accidentally came across the source of the stench, a cracked tube leaking some sort of gelatinous fluid. He gagged and turned away from it immediately, making a choked noise as he started back towards the door for cleaner air. “I found that stench. Do not tell me what is in the glass I do not want to know. “ He fucked his head and brought his hands up to rub at his snout….right as he heard a crunching noise. 

Romeo looked down to see what he stepped on. 

It was something that looked like the skeleton of a Oviraptor, with the exoskeleton mutation. He grimaced. 

“Alright I found it! Romeo can you come grab this for me?” Kyanos would ask, the Utahraptor had found a cabinet of medicines. The two larger theropods would converge back on the Utahraptor and help pick up and carry the cabinet and a few other things before they took their leave from the laboratory. Hopefully to never return.
