Uneven Footing
He'd scrambled up this cliffside a hundred times before. The ground soft enough for his claws to dig in, but secure enough to hold his weight- and the grass at the apex was the perfect grip. Sure, it had rained more than usual lately, but he hadn't been worried.
And to his credit, he almost made it to the top before everything went wrong!
Before the weight of his foot sent part of the cliff tumbling down to the forest below. Before the sudden lack of purchase made his heart shoot into his throat. Before his short life flashed before his eyes.
He was going to need to find a new route.
