[Trade] Giants of the City - Ceallach

Ceallach’s mother had always told him to stay close to the nest, inside an abandoned car garage in a ‘rural’ area of the once great human city, as she called it. Telling him to be safe and stay far away from the inner limits of the city, that this was outside her territory. That there were creatures far bigger than him, males who fight for territory who would see even a hatchling like him as a meal, or little raptor things that could tear him apart at such a young age, but his mother also trusted him to stay with the nest while she was away hunting.

A mistake on her part.

Ceallach was determined to go find what he was looking for, a calling, something that made HIM feel adrenaline and excitement, and he’d heard a roar in the distance that seemed to shake the very core of his heart.

The young acro’s head swung as he heard the sound of two creatures colliding and a flurry of low rumbling roars and aggressive snarls. Ceallach shoved himself under a car his eyes wide with amazement as a black acro stood confronting a slightly larger blue one. They where circling each other, signs of battle clear between the two walking giants as he took it all in with facination, the world itself seemed to disappear, spot lightning the battling males.

The black one moved forward, his muzzle colliding with the underside of the blue ones jaw, forcing his head up and have to swing away, lest he get his throat torn out. The blue acro retaliated though, his foot coming down on the black one, making him screech in pain and stumble back.

Ceallach could barely contain his excitement and slowly moved out from under the car slightly, and began to slowly copy the movements, step, stomp, snap his jaws, swing his head. Quiet, don’t make a sound, don’t distract the fighting males. Ceallach was learning quickly.

Pepper’s fangs bared as he moved forward, “Get out of my TERRITORY Goja, you are not welcome here.” The black acro shook his feathers, his crest standing up in a display of strength. Goja let out a short scoff, the blue acro reminded Ceallach of some of the strange plush items his mother had gathered for her nest. Goja, the blue male shifted and postured himself, head high, but nose tilted to protect his neck, Ceallach would remember that, protect the throat, Goja's voice rang out; “Leaving? Please. I think both of us know in the end, I’m bigger Pepper and I won’t be losing any time soon.”

With that, Goja lunged, the move was surprisingly fast and it caught Ceallach off guard, the power behind the speed, but the blue acro collided with Pepper’s chest and drove him stumbling, Pepper roared in shocked outrage, and Ceallach climbed on top of the car he’d been hiding behind, watching as Pepper’s body collided with an old human object, watching in amazement as he went rolling over the side and landed with a thud on the other side.

Goja shook himself, looking at the injured Pepper, the blows were enough to bruise bone, and Ceallach was eating it up. His eyes wide with fascination every move, had Goja beaten Pepper with that amazing finishing move? Ceallach noted it quietly.
Take a step, then surge forward with amazing speed, ram your opponent, knock them off their feet. The use of Goja’s size would definitely be something he needed in the future. As Ceallach watched the injured black acro hauled himself up, stumbling, his crest was flattened and he had one of his arms hanging limply. He let out a low rumbling growl that would’ve felt threatening if he wasn’t injured.

Ceallach watched as another acro appeared from the buildings, soft and tan in color, she moved quickly to Pepper and nosed him for a moment, that must’ve been his mate, Ceallach realized. Curiosity flickered in his gaze. His own father hadn’t stuck around after giving his mother a clutch, so this… was completely new to him too. The tan colored acro helped the male begin to move away from Goja who stood proudly, watching them go.

Ceallach hopped down from the car and approached the blue male, who was shaking himself off, huffing softly and rumbling as he breathed in relief at winning the fight. Ceallach raised his voice; “HEY!”

The blue acro’s head snapped to the little brown tresspasser and for a second, his pupils dilated into sharp lines in his face, before his muzzle lowered and the pupils rounded out again, Ceallach didn’t know a subtle moment of predatory stare when he saw one.

“What can I do for you?” Goja asked with an amused rumble, “You one of their kids?” His head jerked in the direction of the retreating couple. Ceallach puffed his feathers up, “No.” he said firmly, “I would never be the hatchling of such a weak acro.”

Goja’s head jerked upwards in amusement, a soft rumbling chuckle escaped him as he shifted and sat down in the middle of the broken street, “Well, ‘not a weak acro’ what can I do for you?” He seemed amused, not the hatchling eating monster his mother had described most males to be.

Ceallach eyed the big male then shifted, mimicking the way he sat down, “I want you to teach me how to fight.” He growled firmly, leaving the big male no room to argue with him, or at least he did in his opinion.

The blue acros head tilted, his eyes dancing along the small hatchlings feathers, “Ah? A little fighter, huh? Well the first rule of fighting is getting BIG enough to fight, hmm?” His head leaned down, muzzle puffing hot air into Ceallach’s face, “One day, you may be strong enough to drive me out of this city, give me a good reason to train what could be my replacement.”

Ceallach’s eyes widened for only a moment before he stood up, his head raised proudly as his feathers puffed out, “Because if YOU train me, and when someday i DO drive you out of this place, you’ll know that it’s in the hands of the STRONGEST male acro you’ve ever seen.” The little acros voice was full of conviction.

Goja’s chest rumbled with soft laughter, his eyes softening as he drew his head back, the big male raised a back foot, scratching at his neck for a moment as he thought, his eyes narrowed, “...Alright,” He chuckled and tilted his head, “You know where the big field is in the middle of this city?”

Ceallach hesitated then shook his head, this was the first time he’d gone even this far, Goja shifted and stood up, “Alright, well if you head down this street, and take a right you’ll see a wall, follow it all the way down to the gap and thats your way in. We shall meet in lets say…. 2 days.” Ceallach’s eyes widened in excitement and his head bobbed once harshly in understanding. “Yes, YES! I will be the strongest fighter you’ve ever trained.” He swore.

Goja’s eyes sparkled with amusement, head tilted, “...Goodluck out there, little acro, safe journey home.”

Ceallach let out a excited roar after Goja as he stood and walked away “MY NAME IS Ceallach!”
