Spikey Danger Potatoes

Cathedral was not keen on sticking around the dome for any longer than she needed to, but she could tell it would take quite the marvel of engineering to escape out of here. Sure, she could fly up past all of the trees and look around and get her bearings that way, but that truthfully just sounded like an easy way to get spotted and captured again after the Gang put forward all that work to help her escape. Not to mention she had already scouted out several escape routes, but each seemed guarded by at least one Euoplocephalus.

She sighed as she surveyed her surrounding options. When her wandering gaze caught a tall blue figure she hesitated, before drifting herself over towards where the shape had disappeared around a vine. She almost jumped out of her skin when the figure of a carno emerged.

“Hey!” Cathedral said as she fluttered her wings as the blue striped carnotaurus looked over at her.

“... Hey.” She said hesitantly as her pale almost white eyes stared at Cathedral,”How did you get down here? I figured a flier would stay on the surface where its safer.” The carno said as she turned to angle her head up at the dome’s ceiling.

“... Lets just say I didn’t exactly consent to coming down here.” Cathedral said, figuring it would be best to leave the whole ‘I was trapped after messing up a convoy’ part of her history vague. She figured that Carno was probably here because she was up to no good, but she couldn’t be sure.

“Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m trying to get out of here.” The female Carno said as she turned to look back at the jungle that laid before the two dinosaurs,”Everywhere I step feels like theres something trying to poison or eat me though.” He hummed with an air of annoyance,”Plus I can’t hardly see through all the dense foliage.” She turned back towards Cathedral,”If you could fly up and scout out a tunnel back to the surface it would help me out immensely.”

Cathedral fluttered there for a few seconds. She hadn’t ever worked with a carno yet - the Gang mostly consisted of smaller dinosaurs - and the idea that if the carno really wanted she could swing her head and be a snack didn’t super sit right with her.. But at the same time, she figured she was going to be trying to leave anyway, and having a carno to help her get past the Euo guard would be helpful. Especially if there ended up being more than one guard- since even though Cathedral was a flier the tunnels were quite tight in places and it would of been easy for a Euoplocephalus to catch her in a narrow spot.

“Actually, I do already know a few spots to escape.” Cathedral said as she fluttererd her wings and started to drift towards a nearby tunnel she had spotted,”The problem is all of the tunnels are guarded.. Usually with armored euoplocephalus.”

Cathedral would gently lead the blue Carnotaurus - whose name she found out was literally Blue - through the dense jungle for a few paces. She only had to fly up once to get her bearings, which she thankfully felt more comfortable doing with a carno added to her party even if their relationship had just begun. Once they got through the brush, in the distance was a short and stout Euoplocephalus that Cathedral pointed to with her wing as she landed on a tree nearby to Blue.

“Good, looks like this station only has the one Euo there right now.” She remarked as she looked over at Blue who seemed to be sizing up the figure.

“Do they normally come solo?” She asked as she stared.

“From my experience? No.” Cathedral said as she gestured,”Usually they’re at least in pairs at entrances like this. Sometimes though, for whatever reason, they will put a single Euoplocephalus on guard. I assume its some sort of logistical reason.” Cathedral said as she shrugged,”I can try to help you but if that Euo so much as looks at me wrong all the bones in my body will be broken.”

Blue stared intently as the Euoplocephalus. She could make out from here a few defining details- mostly that the dinosaur seemed to be dawning some sort of bronze attire, although at the distance between the two it was a little hard to tell what was a marking and what was armor. Quietly though she nodded. She was pretty sure she could take on one Euoplocephalus and win.

“Maybe they’re short staffed,” Blue said as she stood up fully from her crouched position,”Either way. I like my odds against one of them.” She said as she turned to look at Cathedral,”I do expect you to help.” She stated bluntly.

Cathedral frowned and hmmed and hawed but eventually nodded.

“Not sure how much use I’ll be to you.” Cathy said as she took to the wing,”But I can try.”

“That is all I ask for.” Blue said nonchalantly as she began to charge forward with an incredible speed.

Cathedral had expected this to be a stealth mission at least at first. She did NOT expect the blue carno to go literally charging face first into the spikey danger potato. Cathedral flapped her wings pumping as much energy as she could to keep up with the Carno. She knew they were one of the fastest dinosaurs on the island - at least in a straight line and on land - but she hadn’t expected such a quick uptake.Blue slammed forward ducking her head downwards as she neared the  Euoplo who had just started to catch on to the charging Carnotaurus heading her way. The Euoplo shrieked.

“Topsider!” She yelled,”Surrender now! You are on Atlantean grounds! And--” the female Euoplo’s sentence was cut off as Blue drew near.

Dragging her head practically to the ground,  Blue shoved her head forward as one of her horns caught the tip of the Euoplocephalus’ side. Cathedral caught up as she fluttered haphazardly above the Euoplo pecking down at her armor straps. When Blue caught the tip of the Euoplocephalus she lifted up with all her force that her tall legs would allow. Cathedral kept pecking at the Euoplo’s face, making it hard for her to see and concentrate on swinging her club into the carno.

“Stop--” The Euoplo stated,”I am a KNIGHT and I am ordering you to- AAH” The Euoplo screamed as Blue’s brute force shoved the Euoplo first onto her side and then onto her back.

The Euoplo’s tail wagged dangerously on the ground, but as her spikes dug into the dirt she struggled to right herself especially with the lack of flexibility from the armor. Blue instinctively placed a talon on her torso, looking down on her neck. Cathedral flapped- recalling how Lucent and Themis had taken down that other Euoplocephalus. They seemed pretty manageable once you flipped them upside down.. It was getting that far that seemed dangerous.

“Consider yourself lucky I want to get out of here more than I want to eat you.” Blue said coldly to the thrashing Euoplo who stopped in her tracks as though frozen at the statement,”C’mon Cathedral. Lets go.”

Cathedral nodded as she followed shortly behind Blue.
