Dinner for four

After the trio had finally finished cleaning, Gaol and Marbe approached Koi together, just as he was putting away his mop. He smiled as they approached.
“Very good work today. We should head to the cafeteria for some food. We deserve it after working for so long.” he said, and without awaiting a response he started walking off.
The two iguanodons of course followed, very pleased with their work so far.
“See, that was not so bad.” Gaol said to his spiked tabby friend, who snorted at him.
“It was not, but I would rather not do it again.” he sighed, and they could both hear Koi giggle in front of them.
“You two must have known each other for a long time. I came to realize I never actually asked about that.” Koi said and glanced back at the larger herbivores.
“Yeah, we were trained together since our juvenile years, we have worked together in the dungeons for quite some time.” Gaol replied, just as they entered the cafeteria.
“Unfortunately, he is a difficult fella to get rid of.” Marble jokingly added, nudging at Gaol who stuck his tongue out in response.
“Well I would be very sad if I had to stop working alongside you two, I must admit.” Koi said, as the trio walked up to the food counter to pick their favourite food items.

Once they had picked their food, they headed off towards one of many tables in the large cafeteria. They were small, especially for the local iguanodons, but they served their purpose as a good place to put food on. By one table, Koi spotted an oviraptor he knew very well, Bruhilda. He rushed over with his food and sat down by her, with Marble and Gaol following along.
“So good to see you, Brunhilda! How have things been? I heard you got knighted by the Queen, congratulations!” Koi excitedly started with.
“Oh hi, long time no see. Thank you. Things are well, I suppose. I’m just worried about everyone..” Brunhilda sighed before looking at the two iguanodons that were now seated in front of her and Koi. “Who are these two? Friends of yours?”
“We just started working together a few days ago, they are normally working in the dungeons and have been taking care of intruders and prisoners.” Koi replied, and Brunhilda nodded as she listened.
“I see. Then you might have met some people I know as well. Nice to meet you, I’m Brunhilda.” she said as she looked at Gaol first, and then Marble.
“I’m Gaol, a fitting name for my job huh?” the pale, quilled iguanodon joked and Brunhilda snorted as she held back a laughter.
For sure.”
Marble smiled before he introduced himself. “I’m Marble. A less fitting name, perhaps.” he smirked.
“Well it’s a good name, at the very least.” Brunhilda replied with a smile before she started to eat.

Gaol also started eating. His plate was mostly full of vegetables and some apples. Apples were his favourite fruit, so they always had a guaranteed place on his plate. After thinking for a bit, he offered one to Brunhilda as he noticed she didn’t have any fruit on her plate.
“Would you want one? I grabbed a few too many.” the laced iguanodon said as he smiled.
“Oh thank you, that’s very kind. I didn’t wanna bring too much at once.” the brown oviraptor chuckled as she accepted the red, ripe fruit, immediately biting into its crispy, juicy flesh. “These are so good, are they the local ones or from the surface?”
“I believe this batch in particular has been harvested from the surface, everyone seemed fine after eating them after quarantine so they decided to serve them here too.” Koi replied as he carefully picked one up with his beak before crushing it into his mouth. “Who would’ve thought that real sun would be better than our artificial lights?” he also laughed.
“Speaking of real sun, have either of you been to the surface?” Marble asked, before crunching on some locally grown carrots. “I have personally been way too busy to do so.”
Brunhilda nodded before speaking. “It is surprisingly cold up there, and windy. The air is so fresh and the warmth of the sun during the less windy days feels really nice. Me and some others are trying to convince the Queen to not declare war so we can all just live in peace, but we will see how it goes I suppose..” she sighed.
Seeing as she was the only one at the table that had been to the surface, they were of course curious, but didn’t want to overwhelm her with a bunch of questions. She could tell they were curious though, so she chose to open up for some conversation.
“One question each, to start with.” she laughed.
“Are there many intimidating dinosaurs up there?” Koi began.
“There are some scary large carnivores, I would guess they’re standing taller than the two of you.” Brunhilda started and looked at the iguanodons. “I’m not sure though, since I've never seen any next to an iguanodon. But I feel so small next to them. It's very intimidating. Though the raptors are probably the worst, the ones with sickle claws. There’s a colourful group that has harassed me quite a bit, one of them in particular was very frightening, a green and yellow glowing one..”
“I know which ones you are speaking of.” Marble angrily huffed. “I don’t know what they did, but they somehow broke out of jail and we haven’t been able to find them since.”
“That’s not good, I hope you find them or that they left on their own, they kept chasing and threatening me, it was awful!” Brunhilda exclaimed and flailed with her arms in frustration.
“Anyway.. What do you two want to know?” she asked Gaol and Marble.
Gaol had to think for a bit and munched on some more food while doing so, which gave Marble the opportunity to ask his question first.
