Kormal - Zhetan

524 Words
Under his feet he could feel the damp moss, covering manmade rock. The air was thick with humidity, but for all the time they had spent down here he had gotten mostly used to breathing this heavier air. The fiery eyes studied the surroundings, gliding over the plant covered walls, moss and vines taking over the remnants of civilization. His gaze continued, and did not stop for long on any singular unfamiliar face in the crowd. Pausing only on his partners, both of them as colorful as himself, for a moment before he looked back at the blue and white Iguanodon. She didn’t seem to care that she didn’t have his full attention, full of herself as she kept going with her grand speech, droning on about her grand plans to restore her kingdom, and expand it. And if the first plan failed, have her violent takeover. When they had first started following the mysterious tracks it had been out of a cool curiosity. Just something to do, and then they had harassed the locals for their own fun, and if some of them had ended up as meals, so what? None of it had been a moral stance, not their fights, nor their escape from imprisonment, and neither would it be now, when he chose to interrupt whatever sentence she had gotten to now in her grand speech. He didn’t scoff at her grand ideas cuz he thought their home above this dome needed saving. That they deserved better than her reign. No. He simply wouldn’t bow to her. They stood above her. They were governed by no one.
“You sure love the sound of your own voice” he scoffed, a wide smirk on his lips as he cocked his head slightly to the side, again looking back at his partners. Meeting Ferdinand’s gaze, grin widening. The self-appointed Queen’s offended noises delighted him. Not only had he dared interrupt her, he also now turned away from her, as if she wasn’t even a threat to him, as if he looked down at her, not even his equal. He did. She snarled, starting to speak again, probably to bark some order he wouldn’t care about, so he interrupted her again, before she even got the first word out. Her subjects were too stunned to even attempt to speak.
“Now while I don’t care about your Kingdom, your so called reign or your imagined authority” he waved dismissively with a clawed hand “I don’t care who you think yourself above lady, or who you walked over to get there, but if you think we will kiss your feet” he laughed, interrupting himself, as if he couldn’t even finish thinking the thought for how hilariously unthinkable it was to him.
She didn’t humour him much longer. The rage in her face was apparent to anyone, her face warped into a sneer.
"SEIZE THEM” her roar almost echoed in the chamber, her subjects immediately moving into action to surround the three raptors. Finally some action. He crouched down, grin widening on his face before he sprang into the crowd, claws and teeth ready to sink into flesh.

Phaeniss - Dillyweed

Every second felt like torture. His gaze had been moving around between the individuals in the crowd for a while. Sizing them all up in his head. There wasn’t a strategy forming in his head or anything. In fact his head was mostly blank. There was an annoying individual in front of them talking. Not a single word had managed to enter his brain. Even if any words actually made it into his brain he didn’t care enough to save any of the information. Instead it turned into a steady noise that helped him disconnect himself from his own thoughts.

It wasn’t until Kormal spoke that his eyes fixated on his partner. He hadn’t heard or taken in any of the words he had said but suddenly the eyes were fixated on him as if he had heard a magical commando. He looked as if he was fixated on every word the other, colourful raptor spoke. Phaeniss was waiting for just a singular word to be said. He didn’t need any other word except that one word. When the Iguanodon tried speaking again, after having been interrupted by Kormal, he automatically tuned out her annoying voice. He didn’t need to listen to her voice at all. He only needed to listen to Ferdinand and Kormal after all.

Slowly at first, as Kormal spoke, he started tapping the big claws rhythmically onto the ground. Impatience evident within him. The first few times it was a damp sound as the moss underneath his claws absorbed any force he applied. But the more he heard Kormal talking the quicker the tapping became, it soon ripped away the soft moss that clung desperately to the rock underneath and allowed the soft sound of claw hitting rock to travel around barely audible over the others voices.

He could feel the adrenaline rise in his body. Phaeniss let the long tongue fall out before he licked around his mouth, only furthering the maniacal look he had managed to get on his face as his grin had become plastered on it. The feathers that normally were wild on top of his crested head were slowly rising like the shackles of a dog. He could feel them getting closer to it. The fighting. The ripping and tearing. He started taking a few steps forward to pass between Kormal and Ferdinand but quickly stopped as Ferdinand looked back at him, he didn’t need more than that to stop in his tracks and take a step back marking his impatience with a snap of his jaws in the air.

I don’t care who you think yourself above lady, or who you walked over to get there, but if you think we will kiss your feet..

Kormal’s laughter echoed and Phaeniss couldn’t stop himself from joining as he once again took a few steps forward. He didn’t pass his partners. But he couldn’t just wait either. He needed to move forward. Snapping his mouth at his partner's tails as he got closer to them. Ferdinand and Kormal both easily moved their tails away from him as if they had experienced this before. The Iguanodon ahead of them seemed to deem them lost causes. Her anger over their laughter and dismissal caused her to almost gain a hint of red on her otherwise blue and white body.

 SEIZE THEM

Her roar echoed and the response from the dinosaurs around her was almost immediate. For a second Pheaniss started rushing forward but he didn’t manage to get even a full step forward before Ferdinand had hit him in the face, causing him to angrily back off once more. He glared at the orange raptor, baring his teeth in anger, who grinned as he tilted his head. “Good,” the word was demeaning rather than complimenting as Ferdinand spoke to him as if he was a creature beneath his own standing - keeping him from immediately joining the fight was so much worse of a punishment for Phaeniss than any demeaning words the other could say, attack.

Phaeniss did not wait around to be stopped again and rushed after Kormal as the opposite dinosaurs headed towards them at full speed. He barely saw the pink raptor as he passed him. Putting every ounce of his weight low towards the ground so that he could push off against it and get airborne quickly. Aiming at any weak points he could grab on the other dinosaurs.
