[Gift] Bulls in a China Shop
Carnage is what they had planned, and carnage was what they had delivered.
Skoggr and Relic had made their way back into Atlantis proper, barreling through Euoplos and Oviraptors alike. Had there been less people in the streets or even more Atlanteans in general, they would’ve been rushing right into more danger. But the city was a mess. Islanders still trying to flee to get topside again while the knights of the Court ran after them, and in some cases the Courtiers themselves ran after people.
The two barreled through the streets, no set place they were going aside from wherever they saw an Atlantean.
“Five!” Skoggr yelled, lowering his head as he charged an Oviraptor down and tossed his head as they got closer, knocking the poor thing into a nearby window where they heard crashing from whatever had been knocked over inside. Relic just laughed. The Oviraptors were easy targets, and he took some secret joy in how easy they could just be flung about and used as weapons.
“Six!” Relic called back to the quilled Carno as he bodychecked another Oviraptor into a wall.
“That Euoplo you kicked in the head doesn’t count!” Skoggr snarled through a toothy grin directed back at Relic.
“It counts. He stopped walking and rolled up, didn’t he?” Relic grumbled as the pair stopped in the middle of the street.
“But he was still in the street. You have to get them off the street for it to count. So you’re still at five, just like me.” Skoggr said and raised his head, towering over the smaller Carnotaurus.
“We didn’t agree to those rules.”
“It was an unspoken rule.”
Relic stared up at the other male, narrowing his eyes before rushing forward and slammed the top of his head into the belly of Skoggr. The other carno didn’t fall down immediately and instead started to teeter backwards, making him backpedal to try and keep on his feet. As Relic kept pushing into him, Skoggr quickly felt the cold stone of a building against his back followed by sharp cracking noises as the glass he’d been pushed into gave way.
The Carno fell backwards through the window, toppling over himself and rolled to a stop a few moments later. Relic quickly poked his head through the open window and looked in at Skoggr and huffed aggressively.
“I’m at six, agree?”
“Over my dead body, boy.” Skoggr snarled, kicking his feet out to get him the momentum he needed to get back onto his belly and then stand again. He shook himself off as Relic came through the window, hissing in pain as he looked down at the broken glass that stuck into his feet. Giving Skoggr enough time to charge at his crimson companion.
Relic was smashed into the wall of the building, Skoggr using his head to keep Relic pinned against the wall as he started to drag him through the inside of the building they were in. The pair crashed through various displays they didn’t care about, heard all the breaking of fragile pots and plates and who knew what else. Relic could do nothing but try to turn his head and bite at the back of Skroggr’s neck, but it was just barely out of reach.
Finally, the younger carno lifted his legs up as they came to a stop again, Skoggr pushing into him hard and had started to shake his head. As soon as his legs were off the ground Relic had started to fall, but not before he kicked out at the larger male and sent him careening backwards, through a door and then just seemed to vanish.
He stared at the open door and the darkness behind it, hearing Skoggr roar curses back up at him as he fell. Relic carefully got back up and limped over to the door, his feet still killing him as he looked down into the inky blackness that turned out to be rather large stairwell. The Court appeared to have made it larger and built up the building around it to try and make it look like the twolegs had done it, but the craftsmanship was still lacking, in Relic’s opinion.
Relic started down the stairs after Skoggr, seeing the quills that had been left behind here and there as well as the gouges in the walls and stairs from where the massive Carno had fallen down them. It concerned him that there was no more noise. Skoggr was no longer yelling and was not still falling. It was just an unnerving silence wherever the stairs ended, and he could see only a dull light at the bottom of the hallway.
When he finally hobbled his way down the stairs and came to a stop at the bottom, his attention was quickly focused on Skoggr. The other Carno back up on his feet and was staring ahead of him. Relic quickly looked forward to see what exactly Skoggr was looking at and saw it.
It being a massive basement full of shelves and displays of various things. Seeds, clothes, armor, fancy bowls, everything that screamed ‘Court’ to Relic and Skoggr. The pair had gone looking for how to best disrupt the lives of the Atlanteans, and they had just fought their way directly into the motherlode.
“I’ll let the Euoplo count.” Skoggr replied, his quills standing on end as he stared ahead. Relic felt it too, the tingle that went up his spine at what they were beholding. The Euoplo didn’t matter at that point.
Without another word the pair of men looked at each other before looking back at the hoard before them and then charged forward. They laid waste to everything before them, knocking over the shelves and kicking open the cabinets full of seeds and saplings. They broke open glass displays and tossed the armor out that had been carefully placed inside. The armor racks were smashed, the armor on them stepped on and ripped apart or badly dented by their horns.
It wasn’t until an Oviraptor had come running down the stairs, hearing the destruction and wanted to see what was going on, that the pair stopped. They panted as they stood amongst their destruction, staring down the Oviraptor who just gaped up at them with wide eyes.
With a new target now in their sight, the pair of Carnos thought little more of the treasury they found themselves in. Skoggr roared, the sound reverberating through the basement and caused the Oviraptor to scramble in place before it finally turned and darted up the stairs with the two Carnotaurs directly at its heels.
