Long Live The King
Long Live The King
Context: As Nightmare and his gang catch wind of the Queen’s ambitious schemes, their own abyssal leader decides this will not stand. They’re still adapting to life on the surface of the islands after living for most of their lives trapped in the endless, dilapidated halls and hangars of the alpha labs, and they aren’t about to give up their new territory and freedom for a bunch of cocky herbivores who think they can just waltz in and own the place. Failing dome or not, with such hostility, the band of albertos deem them unfit for the islands and the way of life they hold, and so Nightmare leads them down through the jungle of Atlantis until they reach the Queen’s throne room. She is stunned and caught off-guard by not only their confidence in walking straight into her sanctuary and them being such strange dinos with sharp teeth and claws who seem undeterred by any of Atlantis’ defenses and weaponry- but most of all, by their leader, who is adorned with the same deep, rich blue colors as she is. This could topple her throne! Who is he to bear the colors of the royal family? Before she can get too far into questioning or perhaps trying to bargain to get them to just leave- Nightmare orders their planned attack, all the present alberts leaping into action. Moros and Killer taunt the queen from all directions, nipping at her heels and pulling at feathers, trying to keep her from being able to focus on where the real dangers are coming from. X does his best to aid this, but with the least experience of all of them, he leaves most of the pestering to the more experienced Moros and Killer, instead standing by in case extra muscle is needed or something goes wrong. Bonecrusher, the largest and strongest of them, grapples the iguanodon into keeping still, even as Moros and Killer continue to pester her and hold her down, loosening and knocking off her armor in the process. While the murder trio start to overpower the overconfident queen, Erratum waits in the wings to dart in for the final blow, looking forward to toppling another tyrant, while Nightmare, settling himself on the queen’s now-vacant throne, watches on calmly, having full faith in his team to take down the bewildered abyssal iguanodon. Perhaps Atlantis may prove more useful to them than he originally thought.
