[Event] Versus the Atlanteans

There they are, those pesky, insufferable, Atlanteans. Sundance was watching from the shelter of a city ruin, what used to be a schoolhouse of some sort, as two Oviraptors picked their spot to plant their ravenous seeds. It was the old schoolyard, long grown up with native and tame plants. The two Oviraptors were clearly scouts of Queen Rhys, Sundance was well informed, and their warpaint was clear. The one was Scruffy, a grey roan with white piebald and hints of Siamese. Purple wings of paint draping its shoulders and banding its tail. It was using its foot claws to till the ground under it while the other one got its seeds around. The second Oviraptor is bald, black with a flurry of tan lines and blobs running the length of its body. A white fade dusting its face and tail tip while purple leaves of paint run the length of its leg. They were talking among themselves as they worked,  skittish. They probably knew they were increasingly unwelcomed on the islands as they spread their ravenous plants. Sundance himself didn't have much interest in the plants, nor stopping the Atlanteans, but the Atlanteans did make good prey. Add to that, if he dug up and destroyed those seeds they were planting he could curry favor with allies. Stopping the plants from rooting in the city would cause less issues in the long run as well, once rooted they would probably be impossible to remove.

Sundance moved closer, slowly stalking towards his prey as the two Oviraptors seemed to finish their preparations. They both would start planting the seeds and that's when Sundance would strike, rushing from his cover to scoop the tan lines one up in his jaws and crush it wish as much force as he could muster as he thrashed it. The Scruffy Oviraptor squawked in fright, jumping back as it startled. It didn't make it much further than that, for Sundance threw its friend into it. The Scruffy Oviraptor toppled over, scrabbling at the ground as it was pressed down by the dead weight of its friend. Seeds forgotten for now. Sundance swiftly stepped over and used his big foot to drag his claws across the bodies of the two, dragging the corpse off of the Scruffy Oviraptor and getting it out of the way before seizing the live one in his jaws and pulling it from the ground. He thrashed this Oviraptor as well. Once he had the two scouts taken care of he turned his attention to the seeds the Oviraptors had tried planting. He didn't exactly know how to kill the seeds but collecting them up and dropping them into the rainbow death (spilled oil or gasoline) tends to kill most things. He would do that.

In another part of the Dead City was lurking Warden, the white and black framed Utahraptor, her crest rising inquisitively as she watched her next potential targets. A two for one deal was very tempting and these scouts from this so-called Atlantis were getting on her nerves. They did not respect the boundaries of her territory, boundaries that really weren't hard to understand. Anything inside the perimeter fence of the old prison belonged to her. It wasn't that hard to understand. Yet they continued to not heed her warnings about coming into her property to plant those strange seeds of theirs on this crusade of sorts they had going on. It took work to dig those seeds up and destroy their efforts and she was getting tired of this back and forth as they slowly encroached on her fortress, probably wanting to use it as a stronghold for themselves.

She was seemingly right about that, because these two Oviraptors were escorted this time. A Euoplocephalus trotted behind them like an observant moving ball of moss. The Oviraptors themselves were very distinct, one of them looking like it was made from charcoal and Ash, with soft shades of sleeves, countershading and Siamese mixed with the harsh edges of brindle and banded, topped white with sable like fresh snow or ash. The warpaint on it was distinct, crimson bones spanning down its arms and hands, with a few marks by its eyes. The Oviraptor next to it was various shades of brown, a light frame over countershade with a dark dock, dark sunspots scattered about and contrasting the white mask. A wreath of green warpaint swoops its crest. The Euoplocephalus behind them is nothing but green. Soft shifts of a light green to the dark at its center with the hints of other markings of green. There is a cream fade and fringe, with the spikes being a cream. The Euoplocephalus seems to be wearing armor…or..horse tack of some sort? Leather maybe. Maybe, Bridle and saddle?

For her plan to work Warden was going to need to get the Oviraptors away from that Euoplocephalus.

Luckily for her she had somewhat been expecting this, and was able to pull some tentative allies who also wanted to see these Atlanteans dealt with.

Emerging from her ambush, the great white Carnotaurus Tuyet, her brown crackling showing her python marks against her piebald. The two Oviraptors shriek their alarms and take cover with their escort. Tuyet was fast, her long legs letting her take wide strides and soon she was causing enough chaos to push the two Oviraptors away from the guard. Now it was Warden and a surprise guest’s time to strike. From the ruins Warden rushed forward, gaining the attention of the duo of  Oviraptors. From behind them jumped a reddish-brown raptor, black tapir and brindle lining its body as a yellowish dimorphic streaked its face and wings. It pounced the ashen Oviraptor, rolling it over and panicking it and its friend as it tried to scramble out from under the Utahraptor.  Warden and this red raptor, Kapil, joined together to chase the now fleeing scouts in the direction of the prison.  They funneled the scouts towards what looked like obvious cover and safety, but what instead was Warden’s hunting grounds and home.

As they ran into the lobby of building the Oviraptors shouted something to each other and they split off in the lobby, one running down the corridor to the left and one running down the corridor to the right. Kapil went left, chasing the Oviraptor towards the administrative section while Warden went right, forcing the other scout towards one of the cellblocks.

While the Oviraptors were fast, the raptors were faster. Better yet, Warden knew this prison quite well and they didn’t. Kapil wasn’t as well versed in the prison as her but Kapil was a seasoned hunter and very quickly had cornered the brown Oviraptor down the administrative hall. The Oviraptor panicked, and was able to get some distance between it and Kapil by knocking a watercooler over, blocking part of the hallway. A housekeeping cart, left out for whatever reason, was also pushed towards the Utahraptor as the brown Oviraptor tried to distract Kapil long enough it could duck into one of the offices and try to hide in the office.

It worked, at first. Kapil swore to himself as he maneuvered around the watercooler which had snagged on the wall, leaving it awkwardly crooked. He settled for going over it instead of under it, slinking over before then maneuvering around the housekeeping cart. He bumped the cart out of the way and took notice that the Oviraptor was now no longer visible. All of the doors to the offices seemed to be open, and searching them one by one would be tedious. Kapil started to smell around, trying to narrow things down just a bit more as he stalked forward. The Oviraptor was somewhere on the right, there were four offices on the right.  He would peek at the offices, one by one working his way. The one at the back made sense to put as much distance as possible but it turns out the Oviraptor was in the third office. It shrieked and tried to kick him as he came into the doorway. Kapil snarled and backstepped before he lunged forward and would try to pounce the Oviraptor.  The Oviraptor jumped back and tried to get Kapil into the room so it could try to go around him and out the door but Kapil was quick. The Oviraptor tried to zig, it should have zagged, Kapil kicks the Oviraptor back into the room and across the desk. He snarls as he gets his footing again and lunges. The red raptor stomps the Oviraptor into the floor, the brown sunspotted Oviraptor shrieking and trying to get out from under Kapil. There is a flurry of blood and feathers and dust as they squabble and fight. The Oviraptor doesn’t stand a chance. It’s not a fighter, and it’s never fought something like Kapil. He pins the Oviraptor down and starts ripping into it with his teeth as he uses his wings and tail for balance and extra weapons, claws hooking and slashing the Oviraptor staining it’s green warpaint red as he kills it, the desk hiding the gore from the doorway. Kapil was there to take out the scout, not to deal with the seeds, but now he would leave the corpse behind to go assist Tuyet against the green armored warrior.. That Euoplocephalus.

Things weren’t as violent on Warden’s end… she had chased the ashen feathered Oviraptor down the corridor until she was able to run the Oviraptor into a former jail cell. Just like that Warden shut the door behind them, it locking when shut, and now.. She left the scout there to rot.

There was no breaking out of that.
