Locked Up!
Reaching Atlantis had been a hassle, the large shape of the suchomimus struggling to pass through the bulk of the jungle of the dome. Typhon’s guide even more of a problem, flighty and anxious- which she had every right to be- he had essentially threatened the little oviraptor into leading him down here. The suchomimus giving his whole body a shake to try and dislodge some thorny, brambled vines that clung to his hide. The gesture making the oviraptor, his polar opposite squawk and jump away from him as he eyed her, carefully. He thought she had said her name was Rosalie earlier, an apt title considering the pale, soft pink of her feathers and hide. The suchomimus letting out a snort from his nostrils as he lifted a clawed forearm to try and scratch at one of the vines that clung to his chest, voice a low rumble. “Calm. I do not plan to eat you… Yet.”
The words making his unfortunate guide quake, rosy eyes growing impossibly wider as he forelimbs tucked in close to her chest, beak clicking as her own voice trembled. “W-Well we’re almost there so maybe you don’t h-have too?...” The oviraptor responded, glancing up at him cautiously as Typhon let out a huff as he clawed one of the vines away, tossing it to the ground. As he let out a sniff, a passing dragonfly quickly darting away from the length of his long maw. “We’ll see.” The words earning a slow if a little reluctant nod from the ovi as she turned.
“T-This way!” Her powerful legs easily allowing the small, flighty creature to jump atop the fallen log of a tree, hopping over to the other side. The suchomimus following easily stepping over the log with his towering size. He’d always been somewhat large for his kind. His steps heavy and thudding against the ground, rustling the foliage as followed after the oviraptor out of the jungle which came to a surprisingly sudden halt and into a cleared area. The carnivore’s blue eyes alighting on what he recognised after a moment as overgrown pieces of some sort of man made architecture- not unlike the Dead City on the Islands above. His gaze surveying the open space as he stepped out into the open, standing over the Oviraptor who stood underneath his belly as he spoke- albeit begrudgingly. “Good work-”
His words interrupted by a low bellow as two shapes appeared from the shadows of the ruined buildings, a third following- a trio of dinosaurs he’d never seen the species of before. The first two armoured, with club-like tails, and the third taller, not unlike the parasaurs but… different, without the crest, and with a sharp claw on the inside of their forelegs. The two armoured dinosaurs bellowing as the third called out. “STOP!-” The sharp bark of challenge making the oviraptor standing underneath Typhon’s legs shrink, cringing inward on herself, her voice quiet and trembling. “O-Oh no… we’re in trouble now.”
The words only heard by the suchomimus who stood so close to her glancing down at the smaller dinosaur as the Igunadon and its two guards approached. The ignuanadon speaking first. “Outsiders are not welcome in Atlantis- especially not carnivores.” The larger of the three herbivores sneered, the two euoplocephalus who guarded them stepping in front, forming a barrier between the carnivore and what Typhon assumed was a herbivore in a more senior position. His teeth glinting sharp as his maw opened. The suchomimus speaking, clearly offending the herbivores. “Well I am here, what do you-” That was the wrong move.
—
It was humiliating really, and somewhat embarrassing… But that was how Typhon woke up where he was now, his head pounding, skull sore. One of the guards had very quickly swung their tail at him, and in his move to step back, head dipping low, the other guard had hit him in the head with the club at the end of their tail. The experience while knocking him unconscious, proving a painful lesson, he was rather sure he had lost a tooth. The suchomimus grumbling, tongue flicking at their jaws as if to test to see if the theory of him missing a tooth was true. A feeling of something moving- TOUCHING his neck making him sit upright with a snarl. What looked like… a monkey? Letting out a shriek and bounding away as the Suchomimus snapped at it, missing the small mammal by a hair as it bounded away, climbing up a tree to hoot and shriek at him. The suchomimus, while not recognising the place he laid, moving to stand as if to follow, only to find himself pulled up short, something at his throat tugging, choking him as he tripped and was forced to sit back down. His head spinning. A sound of something clinking reaching his ears, a clawed forelimb scratching at his neck. A collar and… a chain? They had tied him up. He growled, head twisting to look at the chimp that hooted and clapped from it’s place in the trees above, clearly pleased with itself from its perch as Typhon let out a huff of annoyance.
The irritable Suchomimus letting out another low, rumbling growl as his head throbbed with pain and he turned to lay his head back down in the dirt. His blue eyes taking in the space around him. He was still in this ‘Atlantis’ place… he thought anyway. The ruined buildings looked similar, and so did some of the plants. The carnivore noting a particularly odd pitcher shaped plant nearby that while he’d been trekking here he’d seen another of- a small creature falling into the pitcher to dissolve. He wouldn’t ponder that now. The claws of one forelimb scratching at the ground in annoyance, and maybe boredom as his eyes drifted over the space. He wasn’t sure what he was tied too, it was either a tree or something metal; heavy and unmoving but did it really matter? No… No he thought not. There was no point in such a line of questioning, not when he needed to figure out how to get out of here.
His head aching as he squeezed his eyes shut for a moment with a low, rumble, distracting him from his plans. A voice reaching his ears, familiar and… grating making snap his eyes open. Oh… Oh no he was trapped here with her. The suchomimus tensing as he growled, hearing, but not seeing what he was rather sure was his rather anxious ‘guide’ somewhere from behind him. His tail thumping against the ground as she spoke. “W-Well we’re both in trouble now…” He stayed quiet, ignoring her, a set of claws raking at the ground. He’d grind his teeth if he was able. The Oviraptor not taking the hint as she soon spoke up again. “You know if you’d l-listened to me we wouldn’t be-” He turned, head whipping towards her, unable to see the oviraptor jolt away from him in fright, even as the Suchomimus growled, loud and low, before turning back to face his original direction. His head hurt, his neck felt tight… he… “Shut up… Let me think a bit.”
