[Gift] Coconut Feast

The muted brown Oviraptor was running along the beach, seemingly on the lookout for something. She occasionally came to a halt, looked around to scan the surroundings, and then kept trotting along the shoreline. In the water beside her, her trusty dog of an Atopodentatus, Celena, followed along. Way behind them both, the much taller and intimidating looking Therizinosaurus Muffin slowly followed as well, her purple claws swaying lightly with each heavy step. 

Brunhilda couldn't help but occasionally stop just to look at her, her beloved friend and lover. She felt butterflies fluttering in her chest and turned around to keep scouting before Muffin would reach her. She didn't want her to see her blush, red cheeks. 

After what felt like an eternity to Brunhilda, she finally spotted what she had been looking for, a grove of palm trees. She leaped up in excitement and sped up as much as she could, she had struck gold! 

Once she reached the tall trees, she started jumping against one of them in an attempt to knock some coconuts down, they were her absolute favourite snack and she was determined to get her hands on some. 

Celena, on the other hand, knew her small body would stand no chance against the tall, swaying trees. She got out of the water and huffed as she looked up at the green, hard coconuts, analysing them for a bit. She then waddled off in a search for any that might lay scattered around on the ground. 

Muffin finally caught up with Brunhilda just as Celena started to waddle across the beach and sniff around, much like a puppy during scent training. 

“Would you like some assistance my love?” the large herbivore asked her much smaller girlfriend. 

Brunhilda looked up at her with a frustrated expression written all over her face. She did not want to give up, but it was undeniable that she would not be successful in getting the coconuts down herself. She was too small and lightweight to have any real effect on the trees. 

“If you don't mind..” she reluctantly replied and stepped away from the palms to make space for Muffin, and also to avoid possibly getting any on her head. 

In the distance, Brunhilda could also spot Celena sprinting across the sand, she had spotted something. 

The little beige atopo had found a couple of coconuts laying in the wet sand, very close to the water. Occasionally waves would go up to them, but they wouldn't get dragged into the ocean.

Just as Celena approached the coconuts, a couple of crabs appeared from behind them, almost as if protecting them. Celena started jumping and yelping at them, standing on her rear legs and flailing her arms like a red panda in an attempt to fend them off. The crabs did not care at all and snapped their claws, which prompted Celena to forcefully swoop them away with her bread tail, just barely avoiding them clasping onto it. 

Proudly, she started to roll them along the beach, towards Brunhilda and Muffin. She was very satisfied with her success in locating these all on her own and wanted to give them to Brunhilda in exchange for some praise.

While Celena was fighting off the crabs for her coconuts, Muffin very gracefully slashed down a couple from the palm. They fell into the sand with loud thuds and Muffin smiled as Brunhilda rushed in to hug her. 

“Let me open them for you.” the brown theri said as she sat down in the sand with her coconuts in front of her. 

Muffin snuggled Brunhilda a bit before she intended to open the coconuts, but then Celena popped her head up between the two of them and happily wagged her tail while snorting, and proceeded to then proudly present her coconuts as well. 

Muffin let out a gentle laugh. “Well done Celena.”

“Good girl!” Brunhilda exclaimed and quickly started to scratch the belly of the ecstatic Celena. 

In the meantime, Muffin pierced the thick outer layer of the first coconut with ease. While her long, purple claws were mostly intended for digging up roots and foraging, they did serve this purpose perfectly as well. She proceeded to dehusk all coconuts that they had gathered and once finished she cleared her throat to get the attention of the lively atopo and her girlfriend. Brunhilda and Celena quickly returned to her and sat in front of her. 

“One for you..” Muffin said as she split one of the coconuts in two and handed it to Celena. “And one for you.” 

She did the same for Brunhilda who excitedly started digging into the white coconut flesh with her hard beak. Celena struggled much more with eating like that, so she resorted to scratching out shreds from the coconut that she could then munch up. 

Muffin smiled as she cracked one open for herself too, which she promptly proceeded to eat. She had to pause her eating multiple times to help Brunhilda crack open more coconuts, but she didn't mind. She loved seeing her girlfriend this excited over her favourite treats.
