Mixing dinosaur species wasn’t the best idea and frowned upon by others and sometimes running into those who disagreed resulted in a harsh punishment causing those to get caught in the wrath to learn a valuable lesson. It had been a couple months now and Geode along with Boneyard had grown into their young adult years with the two still traveling with one another and being in a pack as it’s all the new since young hatchlings which didn’t bother them. The scarcity of small game in their area of living had become apparent and the two predators decided it would be best to look elsewhere and were out on a scouting mission in unknown territory.

“Geode you don’t think we should turn back and look elsewhere?” Boneyard said as he was unsure of the new area they were in, it felt off and unwelcoming causing his feathers to stand on end. The area was thick and dense with trees along with old human structures that looked like standing corpses that were left to rot due to time.

Geode stopped and sighed before looking back at Boneyard “ we can’t just stay where we always have besides nothing is out here, we are fine would you stop worrying” she said before hearing the sound of claws scraping across the material of an old building as red eyes gleamed from the shadows causing the two to come to a complete stop.

A harsh voice came from the unknown figure “ a utahraptor and a cryo together.. treating one another with care how absurd” as a large utahraptor came into view of the two which made Geode growl and hiss as she stood next to Boneyard who locked eyes on the large Utahraptor who didn’t seem to like the fact they were traveling with one another.

“Hey watch your mouth, you don’t even know us” Geode said as she narrowed her eyes but backed up as Judge walked closer to them which made the two go quiet, his harsh voice carrying in the air “ what are you a traitor to your own kind” Judge said looking at Geode before turning his gaze to Boneyard who growled when he approached Geode.

“Oh hush I’ve killed cryos bigger than you” he said hissing and circling the two, causing Boneyard to speak up “ what do you want, and leave Geode alone” he wasn’t sure where Judge came from and why he wasn’t attacking and what did he mean by his words, the two had been together since they were young but he never seen any other Utahs or cryos mingling.

“Oh your in my territory and I don’t like you” Judge said laughing and watching the two as Geode went through the words that went through her like knives, she remembered when she was little her pack talking about cryos being their enemies… Boneyard wouldn’t turn on her would he, as she gulped before snapping out of it.

“ we will be leaving, or I’ll rip your throat out” she said harshly before turning her back and calling Boneyard to follow her, Judge didn’t know what he was flaking about and these two had not time for his games besides hunting here would be hard if it was already taken by something.

“Yeah back off, we don’t want trouble” Boneyard said hissing before deciding maybe it was best to get out of here which Geode had already decided on for the two, his tail swaying back and forth as he spun around to follow.

Boneyard nodded and followed Geode who went silent, he wasn’t sure what was up with her was it something the unknown utahraptor said that pissed her off, it was unlike her to go cold on him and all he could hear was the evil laugh of Judge in the distance.

“Don’t get two comfortable you two will be at each others throats in no time, and friendship won’t save you” Judge said hissing through his teeth watching the two leave his territory, he had done what he needed to for now.

Once further away Boneyard caught up to Geode and sighed before looking back “well I think we are far enough away now from that crazy Utahraptor” taking a breath in to relax. Geode kept her gaze at the ground before looking up “maybe he was right, we haven’t seen any of our kind act like

This” she said harshly

Before continuing to walk.

They had never crossed paths with any dinosaur like that and understood why keeping to themselves was safer besides would the two see him again? Or was this just a one time thing. Geode shook her head from the thoughts and smiled softly at Boneyard who seemed to be worried about her “ im fine really, he’s probably just crazy” she added before looking ahead “let’s get out of here I don’t wanna cross paths with him again”

Boneyard nodded and smiled back but couldn’t help avoid what Geode said although the raptor was probably crazy and avoiding him again was probably the best bet for the pair, it would be a crossing they would always remember as Judges Voice haunted their minds for the rest of the night.

The island was filled with various dinosaurs and it was crazy that they had stumbled upon another utahraptor but it wasn’t one from Geodes pack as Boneyard had asked, the two finally making it back to home sweet home and talking about Judge for a bit before deciding to call it a night, they weren’t sure why they ran into him but maybe it meant something more than it seemed for the two but they couldn’t pinpoint why.

“Just forget about what he said Geode” Boneyard said before laying his head down, they had been fine all this time and no raptor was going to tell them how to act or live.

Geode nodded and closed her eyes “ yeah… your right” she said before dozing off but still thought about the odd encounter they had earlier. Maybe crossing paths with others was a bad idea.
