Use your head, literally

The birds singing melodious tunes while other creatures within the lands were minding their own businesses and doing their own daily tasks. Even the simplest of herbivores, Styracosaurus types, were grazing on various greeneries.

One nearly had blended in with the landscape itself with the browns and greens coloring throughout their bodies. The fawn marking, in particular, allowed for him to stand out a bit more than normal.

The bright green eyes blinked, fluttering open and closed as his jaw shifted into the chewing formation. The grass he had just grabbed was quite delicious.

A low grumble roared within his stomach, finally eating for the morning. He was glad he was munching on the meadow.

Moose was an oddity within the Styracosaurus types, he’s a bigger larger than his father but not like his mothers. He did his best to avoid conflict, which may be the reason why he was fixated on foods.

It did not matter to him if others were near him eating, as long as they were minding their business just as he was.

After some chewing, swallowing up the cud of sorts with a big gulp sound and feeling. Moose was rather satisfied and easy to please.

His body shifted slightly as he looked around with his bright jade hues. He blinked a few times and rattled his head to the left and right rather quickly. Hearing chitter-chattering of others. Something about coconuts had him intrigued.

“What in the heck is a coconut? I want to try it,” He babbled to himself, curiosity rising gradually.

Supposedly there were these circular objects that one could crack open and eat the insides that were soft and white. The outer sides of them were super strong. Not all creatures could truly open them. On the plus side for a Styracosaurus, Moose could use his spike to possibly puncture it open! What a swell idea. Moose was rather clever and logical with his thoughts and ideas. How perfect it would be for him to find one and open it with his spike that laid between his nostrils.

The idea of it all gave Moose the biggest grin that would shape across his muzzle.

“Alright boyo, let’s go on an adventure,” he whispered confidently to himself. The fixation he had now on a coconut gave him such motivation. He would go find it no matter what it would take.

After some time, walking through the variety of vegetation. He eventually reached an area that looked like there was a beach. That was something he had not ventured out to, beaches. He was uncertain when it came to water.

So, for the time being, the primary focus for Moose was, the coconut.

He looked around the beach area, his feet shifting his weight on the edge of the grass line meeting the shoreline. The sand was light brown, almost white in some parts. The waves dancing around the edges of the beach.

Not noticing anything that would equate to a coconut standing out while he gazed around. He decided to move forward and go straight on, walking parallel to the waters.

A low hum of contentment bellowed out of his chest and vibrated passed his lips. It was a noise of some kind, just a hum to keep him calm mostly.

After a few minutes of walking, just a head of him, he noticed a few tall trees and some circles at the top.

The trees were basically palm trees, but Moose did not know the term for them other than it being a ‘coconut tree’.

Moose lifted his big head up slightly to look toward the top of the tree. Coconuts!

“By golly!” Moose exclaimed with excitement in his tone.

The coconut tree had three coconuts attached to the tree and leaves.

Moose barely thought for a moment on what to do next – he was walking backwards – then he ran really fast, headfirst into the tree.

THUD!

The coconut tree swayed. Nothing happened.

Moose grumbled while going in reverse again. Once he reached a good distance backwards, he ran full speed toward the coconut tree again.

THUD! *boing*

The leaves at the top shifted more than before. A snap followed by a soft woosh sound fell from the upper part of the tree to his head. He hit the tree with such impact a coconut dropped and landed on his spike that sat between his nostrils.

Bright jade eyes went crisscross as he chuckled to himself at the sight. The coconut got impaled by him. How clever of a tactic he was able to do.

Now he had to figure out how to slide the coconut off his spike without damaging it more or even hurting himself.

Moose and his quick wits, he glanced around where he was and noticed a large rock.

“Ah, perfect,” he spoke to himself. His idea was to go to the rock and reach the other side of it. Sliding the coconut off his spike by allowing his body to back up. Hopefully this would work for him, and he could try out the flavor of the coconut.

He walked to the large rock that was only a few of his large steps away. Lowering his head to allow the spike to go over the edge of the rock. Then he lowered his head a little bit more, to allow the coconut to grab at the edge of the rock. He slowly stepped backwards, letting the coconut meet the rock as it moved from his spike. It was a slow process, well, slower than what he typically was used to until the coconut rolled off the rock. It rolled a few more feet away as Moose lifted his head quickly to follow the sound.

The Styracosaurus grinned inquisitively at the sight. The coconut had a hole in it, but the coconut itself was greenish yellow in color.

“Time to try it out,” he mumbled to himself as he moved closer to the coconut before first, licking it with his tongue to see if he would like it or not.

Did he like it? Did he not like it? Who knows!
