Survival the hardest reality that every dinosaur had to face one or multiple times in their lifetime and coming face to face with death, some living to tell the tale while others never see the light of day again. A monster was spoken of to have roamed

The labs its haunting beeping from its old tracker

Echoing down the halls almost mimicking its heartbeat… They called it Geiger, it mostly being the last thing that dinosaurs saw who ventured down into the belly of the labs never to come out.

It had been a quiet day in the labs and the trio were relaxing in their usually spot when Maul began rambling about the under belly of the labs and how he wanted to explore them with Apothic and Jabberwocky who’s idea of fun wasn’t that but they crumbled and decided to go with Maul, all the trio ever heard was anything but good things about going down there but now young adults they let bravery overcome the logical thinking.

“Maul I swear if we run into trouble I’m saving your scales as a decoration for our hideout” Jabber growled her red eyes scanning the large area they were in, it was an old part of the lab and it smelt like the stench of death, walking over old bones and item, and Apothic wasn’t far behind. 

It was quiet so far but the three felt uneasy almost like they were being watched but they couldn’t pinpoint what it was. Maul came to a stop when he let out a laugh “besides what is lurking down here we couldn’t take, stop being a baby” he said, hissing back at the much larger of the three.

Something was around and the danger felt under their scales was correct as Jabber snapped at Maul “something is here, we shouldn’t be here” she said quietly crouching lower to the ground “and if you don’t shut up it’s going to come” she added before closing her jaws along, Apothic could feel it as well before he joined next to Jabber and motioned for Maul to hide. 

“Listen to her! She’s right there is something here now shut your jaws” he growled before scanning the area around them before spotting a dim red light beeping in the distant shadows of the room. A loud roar shook the place around

Them as the large figure peered out of the darkness, its face messed up and one

Arm missing… Geiger they had entered her area and were now in danger and fighting was going to be the only way out for them now..

“Geiger… it’s real, the stories they weren’t lying” Maul said backing up as his nose was filled with rotting meat and decay that was now in the air, maybe coming down here wasn’t a good

Idea after all, it was a fight for survival and being face to face with walking death that towered over the three wasn’t a great start.

Geiger lowered her head down and charged at Maul who swiftly moved out of the way scratching the metal floor panels as Jabberwocky and Apothic growled loudly… it was on and fighting was one thing they were good at, the two rushing the side of Geiger as she spun around trying to chase Maul who snapped and hissed.

“Go for the side with the missing arm” Jabber said moving to counter Geiger and slamming into her side grabbing into the larger acros thick hide who hissed in Pain, while Apothic sunk is teeth into her leg giving Maul time to move and stop being chased. The large acro roared shaking off the three and throwing Jabber across the floor before turning around and grabbing ahold of Apothic crushing his tail with her jaws which made the red scaled Acro roar in pain.

“Apothic!” Maul called out rushing in to slash at Geiger's face which landed on her missing eye socket making her let go and giving Apothic a way out, they had gotten on the other side of her now and enough fighting was done, it was time to go and quickly.

“This way now!” Jabber said before taking off with Maul and Apothic right behind her, and Geiger in hot pursuit on their tails. They just needed to get to the smaller hallways where she wouldn’t fit and they were super close, taking some harsh turns and avoiding Geiger's jaws.

Death was right behind them and they used every ounce of energy they had to run even if they were hurt, Jabber was in the front with Apothic behind and Maul keeping the rear as he was nimble

Enough to dodge any incoming attacks.

“Move Jabber” Apothic said as he pushed past smashing some old wood panels that blocked the way as it uncovered a spot to squeeze through, with quick work the two got into the area and Maul slid in just in time as the snapping of Giegers jaws echoed down the hallway.

“That was close..” he said, catching his breath and looking at Jabber and Apothic who nodded in agreement, they had never been that close to death before and their bodies weren’t accustomed to the intense, adrenaline rush. Wounded and tired the three hid away waiting for Geiger to lose interest and walk back off into the shadows.

They had beaten the large beast and survived the encounter for now and the best they could do was rest as Apothic and Jabber were beaten and hurt while Maul kept watch so they could rest. Being stronger than your opponent would be a valuable lesson they would learn and carry with them to adulthood.

Geiger's haunting roars could be heard in the distance as she terrorized other unfortunate dinosaurs, who would cross her path.

“Maybe we should stick to the upper levels from now on” Jabber hissed before laying her head down to rest as Apothic and Maul

Agreement on that statement, but they were alive and it wouldn’t be the end of these harsh encounters.
