It was dark and the smell of death stunk up the labs hallways with the dripping of sewage water only being the sound to echo through the place. Finding a meal In this waste land was harsh and a lesson most needed to learn quickly as scavenging only

Got you so far down here and hunting something was a very slim opportunity that couldn’t be missed if it was presented.

A small trio of misfit carnivores called the labs home and learning to survive was never easy with the young dinosaurs often fighting over food they could find and it was only getting harder and harder each day, down in the lower levels the three made their way down a dark hallway stepping over junk and in hopes to find something to eat.

“We have to find something, I’m over looking for scrapes” a much larger of the three acro that went by the name Jabberwocky as she sniffed the air trying to pick up a sent, the bigger she grew the more blood thirsty she became along with the other acro who was Apothic but he was a lot tamer on the subject.

Behind them followed Maul who snapped his jaws and growled sniffing the ground “ I’m with her on this one, we need to hunt something I’m done looking around there has to be something down here we can kill” it was quiet but something was lurking around that could provide a challenge for the three but if they could hunt it , it would pay off nicely.

Jabberwocky looked up ahead as she spotted something moving as they had found themselves coming up on the greenhouse portion of the labs and it usually housed herbivores that were brave enough to stay down here for the food that the green house provided most of the time… this could be the place but hunting the large herbivores who had spiked tails wasn’t the easiest and even the larger carnivores who lurked down here struggled.

“If they have a young one we could pick it off” Jabber said looking at Apothic who nodded in agreement they usually had young with them and they weren’t as dangerous to hunt besides there was the three of them, and with that the trio decided to move forwards with Maul holding the back and the two acro’s in the front. In the green house a small herd of dacentrurus wandered around as they munched away on the plant life with the adults to focused on food and the young on the outskirts not being watched.

Apothic stopped as he crouched joined by Jabber and Mau who zeroed in on the unattended young.

“There, they are not being watched… we wait until the right move” Apothic said as he watched closely the two young Dacentrusus playing around and getting further from the herd. They had never hunted anything this size and weren’t confident but they wanted to try as finding food down here was getting worse, even if it was to be difficult they were ready to tackle that hurdle now being much bigger.

Maul hissed before stepping forward and slinking away into the dark making his way around in the shadows to take a different position before they attacked, Jabberwocky and Apothic would be the brute force while Maul would use his long jaws to shred when they attacked. 

“Now Maul” Jabber hissed out before she took of

Slamming into the side of the young Dace causing the other one to panic and take off, along with Apothic following up and hitting it as well.

Maul used his jaws to snap at the young herbivore but missed and stumbled over its tail as it swung trying to keep its balance from the harsh hits from the other two, he let out a painful his

Hitting the hard ground.

Jabber growled and kept pushing trying to knock it off its feet as it swung and pushed against it, they needed to knock it over to expose

Its soft underbelly they watched countless other carnivores do the same with the

Adults.

“Keep pushing! We need to knock it over” she growled as she used her head, the herd had been alerted and it would be short for an adult to make

It is to aid the baby and if that happened they would lose the hunt and opportunity at a good meal. Struggling Apothic moved and bit down on its leg as he shoved a bit harder giving Maul Time to get up and help them in

Which he used his narrow jaws And grabbed hold of its Neck.

With one more push the three managed to flip it over and Maul delivered a quick blow with his large claws while Jabberwocky and Apothic held the struggling Dace down until no movements could be seen anymore.

They did it and with a struggle but they had done it, this kill was important and now they would be able to eat real food and learn the struggle of the hunt, some injuries but most okay.

“Good work you two, but next time watch the tail” Jabberwocky said as she dug into the soft parts, her jaws becoming bloodied as Apothic laughed and did the same. “Yeah our killing blow, fell on his face” he added before looking at Maul

Who rolled his eyes in annoyance.

“If it weren’t for me we wouldn’t have Hunter anything” he said taking a piece himself and wolfing it down, finding prey was one

Thing. Killing it and getting to eat was another difficult game

Young carnivores had to learn but they had pulled it off quickly and clean This time and would be ready for the next hunt better prepared and using the new skills they had from this for the next.

“Hurry up and eat before more predators come” Jabber said before eating and Apothic and Maul nodded in agreement, this place was crawling with them always and getting

Eaten over a meal wasn’t on their to do list.
