Waves crashed against the shore as birds flew above scavenging what they could that washed up on the shore onto the sandy beaches that surrounded the island, among the sand was a large sucho who was trekking through the sand looking for fish but for a specific reason and that was to impress another sucho who was basking further up ahead, Atlas had a plan to court but he would need to impress this sucho and his idea to do that was to offer and catch some large ocean fish he could get his jaws on. Uphead a much smaller sucho laid on some beach rocks basking in the sun, as the heat warmed his scales as he watched from his side eye seeing Atlas which caught his interest as he rolled over on his side to sit up and watch. 

“Oh what an interesting pattern” he muttered to

Himself as he looked at Atlas’s glowing markings down his body, Typhoon had never seen anything like it and he was interested especially the seeing of fish if he was to be courted it needed to involve fish or he would put his snout up and go elsewhere but this male that had been following him struck interest for sure.

Atlas watched from afar seeing Typhoon keeping his eye on him, that’s what Atlas wanted and he used his glowing patterns as he fished catching large fish in his jaws and carrying them to the shore to put in a pile, this is how he would court the other sucho by gifting fish as an offering to show he could provide for them.

As Atlas grabbed more fish in his jaws he began to head over to Typhoon who had gotten up and was now wary of Atlas approaching but grumbled in low growls, they weren’t entirely inviting but not hostile.

So far so good as Altas laid the fish down in the sand before bowing “ here you are, I got these for you and your name was?” He said shaking his feathers out from the water at drenched them due to getting hit by the ocean waves from earlier

While fishing. It wasn’t often that male suchos courted one another but Typhoon looked interesting and Altas liked that about him.

“Well what a greeting that was, hmm all types of fish here and some of my favourites” Typhoon said stepping forwards as he sniffed the fish Atlas brought to him as a courting gift, next was for the two to let their guard down around each other as both suchos were still on edge but Atlas grumbled low and bowed again letting Typhoon know he wasn’t a threat of any kind.

“Well I’m glad I picked the right ones then” he said smiling and sitting down in the sand watching the other sucho enjoy the fish he gifted, it was going well despite the two checking eachother out for the past couple days as most suchos

Who courted kept their options

Open but these two seemed to be hitting it off well.

“Well my name is Typhoon, it's very nice to meet you” he said, taking a fish in his claws and gulping it down quickly waiting for Atlas to say his name which he did and also Enjoying a fish he had gotten himself.

“I’m atlas it’s very nice to meet you, I just had to work up the courage to come approach you and I figured a gift would be the best way to do it so I’m glad you like it” he said calmly to Typhoon who nodded and smiled before sitting down and enjoying the sands heat near Atlas.

The two enjoyed each other's company as they nuzzled one another’s jaws being careful and not to snap at one another when they both got a little too close to one another, but was sorted out quickly with growls and low

Cooing one another, after a few hours they decided they were going to pair one another and test each others bond, the gifting from Atlas and willingness from Typhoon made them decide they would be a perfect fit and courting was the best idea.

Typhoon stood up and shook himself before nuzzling Atlas who ruffled feathers before joining him, over the next few weeks they would test one another to strengthen their bond before they would get to nest building and the harsher part of raising offspring , but for now they were off to test one another’s hunting skills and Altas was taking the lead as they rubbed against one another.

Courting as a sucho was always risky and it seemed both had done it properly this time and both seemed happy with their pick, it would be the first time they would raise young and Typhoon and Atlas were ready for it especially looking for a good nesting spot.

“We will be great parents I think, just show me that you won’t fail me” he said chuckling before diving into the creek they had walked to to fish for some large fish here to stockpile food as they would be busy building a nest soon.

Atlas chuckled before following after him as the two worked together catching fish and taking

Turns, it seemed like they were working out to be a good pair already. It was looking promising. After a bit Typhoon and Atlas surfaced with full

Jaws and got out of the creek before deciding it was best to go look for a nesting spot as soon they would be blessed with the cries of small hatchlings and they were stock piled

On good food for now, with fish in their jaws they walked side by side before

Peering off into a wooded area where they would

Use the soft dirt to make their nest.

Atlas and Typhoon were excited for their pairing and it was off to find the perfect spot to nest and prepare for the things to come in the next few days.
