Crossing Paths ( Age-up for : Jabberwocky & Apothic & Maul )- AgentShark & Lil Monster

The sound of haunting calls and growls echoed through the cold floors of the alpha labs with the stench of death suffocating any dinosaur that dared adventured in or called the place home. They had been open for awhile now and most dinosaurs came and went including the surface which meant new life sprouted often bringing new dinosaurs into the world each day.

Down in the deeper levels the building

Was coated with cold floors and metal hanging bits from the deterioration over the years, and out of the shadows popped two small hatchlings but of different species one being a sucho and the other a acro that spotted red scales, it had been only a couple days since they hatched and were learning quick the dangers that lurked in the labs.

“Are you sure we went the right way Maul, I feel like this is where we saw the scary monsters last time” Apothic said sniffing the ground before shaking his head. The two had close run-in with bigger dinosaurs that lurked down here but seemed to be unbothered by it and it was off to more exploring of the place they called home.

“I told you the hatchery is most likely the safest for us, now come on keep up” Maul hissed through his teeth before stepping forwards but noticed something laying in a broken hatchery chamber with glass shattered all around, one of the larger dinosaurs must’ve knocked it over when making their way through the area before hand.

Apothic sighed and kept ahead as he looked at the glass while they walked past unaware of the small red eye watching them from the shadow, something was here and it was her first time coming across others.

While the two hatchlings who wandered the alpha labs got their bearings, a couple eggs that had been lost to the shutdown of power laid rotten but amongst them was a couple who managed to make it through the outage and had hatched.

Small footsteps echoed but went unnoticed as the small acro followed Maul and Apothic who were more concerned about the things they were finding in the hatchery and they didn’t expect much to make it out alive, the ones who did were lucky.

Apothic came to a stop when he smelt a new scent in the air causing Maul to also come to a stop as he looked back at his acro companion “What is it?” the sucho could smell the unfamiliar smell before he walked ahead sniffing around some old hatchery pods pushing past Apothic.

“I think I smell something, are we being followed” Apothic hissed as he looked around before spotting red eyes looking straight at him and Maul, and it approached fast coming to a stop as it growled at the two “Why are you following me in here” she growled bearing her teeth, her pale face with black markings down her body.

Maul and Apothic hissed back as they kept distance from the other acro hatchling who seemed to be on edge but they were also surprised they found another hatchling down in the labs as most have been wiped out or long gone by now.

“Whoa relax we weren’t following you, you were following us!” Maul hissed and snapped his jaws before shaking off the harsh tension he was feeling. At least it wasn’t a bigger dinosaur but he was curious about the newcomer, and he had an idea. Apothic on the other hand was excited seeing another of his kind and he wanted to know her name.

“Well I’m Apothic and this is Maul don’t mind him he is usually this grumpy” he said stepping forwards towards Jabberwocky. Soon enough Jabber relaxed as she heard Apothic being nice to her which made the small acro give up her name “My name is Jabberwocky, how long have you guys been down here” she added before looking around the room which smelt of death and silence.

“We were born in the hatchery pods, I’m assuming you were as well” Maul said walking past Jabber as she watched the two closely curious about her new found friends and where they had come from but nodded when Maul spoke. Maybe crossing paths with another hatchling was fate for the three as being alone in the alpha labs wasn’t the best survival strategy so making a group would be smart.

“It appears maybe running into each other was a good idea” Jabber said as she began to follow Maul and Apothic who was more than happy to have her tag along but something else would say otherwise by Maul who kept his snout high and kept walking looking for any food around or things they could find.

“I am really glad I found others, it was getting scary down here especially with that large acro who wanders around down here.. The one with the missing eye” Jabber said as she felt shivers down her scales but it didn’t matter anymore she had a group which meant she was a bit safer, besides it could prove to be an adventure with these two as they grew.

“We have heard of that one, it hasn’t found us but it must be super scary” Apothic said as he walked besides her and Maul just shook his head “You really believe in those lab stories” he scoffed before looking back towards them and motioning for them to follow.

“Come on we gotta find somewhere to call home, and like you said we are better to stick together for now” Maul mumbled before looking down a long hallway, it was time for the threes adventure to start and having a harsh start in the labs was not the perfect or ideal start to life but crossing paths with others sometimes was followed by fate and these three had a lot to learn, but now they had each other which was something at least.

“Well let’s go then” Jabber said with a toothy smile and followed behind soon joined by Apothic who was also ready.
