[Trade] Enter the Colosseum

A trio of cryolophosaurus entered what appeared to be some dinosaur crafted area. The area was trampled and flattened. The round arena inside was even blocked with the use of logs, boulders, and stones. In a way it was meant to separate the viewers from the entertaining party. Reaper, a brown and white royal spiked male, Abandon, a green and black marked female, and G.R.I.M., a gray marbled male with a red skull dimorphic marking, all glanced around. Two euoplocephalus creatures sat across from the entrance, Kielo and Halberd. These two knights had barred their entrance to their territory unless this trio of cryolophosaurus could impress them. 

It was quite clear to this threesome that they were to show off their skills and prowess. These two wanted to be entertained and shown that the trio was indeed worthy of entering these lands. Abandon looked around at the two males that were with her. “How do we show off our skills?” She questioned. 

“Perhaps we can show them one of our courtship dances?” Reaper suggested and glanced to G.R.I.M. “We could also do our display of courtship competition?”

“You mean to dance as the birds do?” G.R.I.M. raised a brow. “I suppose it could be worth trying to entertain these herbivores.”

“Maybe if we make it look like an elaborate performance it could be entertaining enough.” Abandon nodded. “Something like a carnival performer.”

Abandon and G.R.I.M. both began to waltz around one another, their noses at one another’s tails. Slowly, they each would take turns dipping their head downward in a sort of bow while they waltzed. When Abandon dipped her head down, G.R.I.M. would raise his up and when G.R.I.M. would dip his, Abandon would lift hers. This made their head bobs look reminiscent of sea waves. 

Reaper understood what they were doing, so he entered their circle ring, pushing Abandon out and trading partners in a way to perform the dance with G.R.I.M.. The two males took turns raising and dipping their heads down, this time not in a courtship display, but in a display of linking up together. Abandon would push out G.R.I.M. and take her own turn with Reaper. 

After this, the three of them linked up together in a bigger circle. This time the rhythm was slightly different, so they were each bowing their heads in a different turn from one another. This made the display almost look like a choppier or faster moving waves. When one head was up, one was down, and the third was somewhere in the middle. The precision had to be quite precise or the equilibrium of the movements was thrown off. They continued round and round, dipping and bowing, until it was time to spin away from each other while still keeping their same momentum in their circling. This created a delicate flower pattern in the movement. They would spin out and back in, but continued to circle counterclockwise. 

Kielo leaned over to his buddy, Halberd, and whispered into his ear. “This group certainly knows how to perform. Do you think the royal family would enjoy this display?” He continued to watch the performance in awe of the creatures.

Halberd nodded his head watching the elaborate dance between the trio as they spun and jogged in the center. “I think this is quite creative. I've not seen any other species create such an elaborate display. What do you think this dance means?” He thought of a few ideas while watching them dance. It was clear he had never seen a performance like this before.

“It started out like something we've seen the birds on these islands do. Some sort of mating or courtship dance to attract a mate.” Kielo observed while watching the three of them jump towards one another and then jump backwards away from one another in turn. “Perhaps it's some sort of partnership type of dance. Something between mates or members of a hunting party?” Halberd nodded his head as the two continued to watch the dance and display. 

Reaper, Abandon, and G.R.I.M. all kept up their dance. As time went on, they got more into it and we're having fun with their performance. They would jump at each other and jump away, twirl or spin, and even chase each other in almost a ritualistic fashion. This wasn't an awkward dance being performed in front of strangers, but an elaborate display of how well connected this group of cryolophosaurus really were. Their dance wasn't just being fueled by expectation, but by joy. 

It was then that Halberd and Kielo stood and entered the ring to approach them. Abandon stopped first and faced the two euoplocephalus with respect. Reaper and G.R.I.M. soon followed suit and waited to see what these two herbivores wanted from them. “That display was absolutely marvelous!” Halberd chuckled and sat down. 

“Yes!” Kielo chirped in. “You must teach us how to dance as you do someday. For now, I do believe we will invite you in to our sacred lands and allow you to visit.” The three cryolophosaurus let out a small sigh of relief. They could stop dancing. 

“I'm sure we will be around to teach you the moves and courtship practices of cryolophosaurus. I suppose till next we meet, we will say a farewell.” Abandon smiled before turning away to head deeper into the territory. Reaper and G.R.I.M. followed suit, leaving the two euoplocephalus in wonder of the display they had witnessed. 

“Do you think they were impressed?” Reaper questioned the group as they left the scene behind them. Abandon nodded her head. 

“They let us enter, that means we performed well enough to at least catch their attention.” She agreed. G.R.I.M. sniffled a little like he might sneeze. 

“It's too bad we can't hunt them… herbivores are tasty…” his voice bellowed to the other two. 

“Not this time… perhaps next time we can grab a snack.” Reaper chuckled as they continued onward to this new place.

“I wonder what other creatures could be out there… dancing under the light of the moon and singing.” Halberd glanced up at the sky in wonderment. 

“Perhaps, someday we will see what all other species have to offer.” Kielo answered, while watching the trio disappear from sight.
