After a cool night, the sun began its ascent into the sky. The pinks, purples, and oranges fading out to a blue let Koralie know it was time for her to get up, especially after hearing her stomach rumble, crying for food. She looked at her new necklace she made for a moment, enjoying the interesting memory behind it of a past adventure. She started to eye the coast line with the rocks shimmering because the ocean waves kept hitting it, allowing its shimmer to shine. She loved how blue the ocean water was. She felt the rock between her hands looking down at it watching it’s colors from blues to purples to its lovely shade of pinks reminding her of the sunrise she just witnessed. She starts looking for an area to place her necklace down, not wishing for it to get damaged as she hunted later. She looked around and saw a tree branch lying low enough to place her necklace inside, there being a hollow hole right by the base of the branch. She gently pulled her necklace from her neck and decided to see if her nose and mouth could fit into the small hole. There was just barely enough as she dropped her necklace inside, then got off the tree and shook all the dirt and debris from her sleep earlier as she headed towards the glistening and dancing river. The fish were swimming around lazily, and she quickly jumped in to catch the fattest one she could find. It led her a lot further than she had realized as she snatched it finally. She looked around, trying to find anything familiar that would lead her to her comfortable alcove home, fish in tow. She was incredibly lost, but her rumbling stomach reminded her that she needed to eat and keep her strength so that she could search for her home later. She sat down to eat her fish, removing the scales so that she could get to the yummy flesh underneath without the gross crunch scales had. She devoured the fish, leaving the rest to the scavengers, getting up to go on her new adventure. Curious yet cautious to her new surroundings. Koralie looked around, confused by her surroundings. None of these plants looked like anything she'd ever seen before, each one unique in appearance. She saw tons of flora, but noticed a strange lack of fauna, at least no fauna she knew about. Even the animals she did see looked mildly interesting, if not downright scary to the poor dino. She ended up seeing one of the animals grabbed and devoured by vines…. Best not to stay and nap here… She continued on, following the shoreline of the ocean to try and follow it out, hoping she was heading in the correct direction. On her way she ended up squaring off against what looked to be Venus flytraps, which were rare for her to see to begin with. These didn't seem normal though. They had sharpened teeth, and were mottled with an odd array of colors that shouldn't exist in the plants she knew of. They consisted of reds, whites, and odd purples in there. What scared her was they seemed capable of tracking movement, and if it weren't for the fact that she needed to get past the plants to stay on the path that she was taking, she would have skirted around them. As it stood she didn't want to lose sight of the water, as it was her only source of direction in this foreign piece of land. She would have to risk it to keep her by the shoreline, which means she had to fight her way through. She was rather terrified when one turned to look her way, fresh gore from another animal turned into prey stained its odd yet rather ugly mouth. The mouth certainly wasn't pretty in Koralie’s humble opinion! She growled, trying to look like a bigger target than she actually was. The plants took a predatory stance before rushing towards her, and she jumped back and weaved through the tangled and twisted vines, yelping and jumping out of the way just in time as one of the plants attempted to chomp down where her head had been only two seconds ago. That was close… Koralie thought, as she finally broke through and got out of their range. She ran away in a hurry, hoping she didn't come across any more of those carnivorous plants. She continued to walk for what felt like hours, hoping to finally be out of this nightmarish garden! She had encountered so many plants trying to kill her that she wasn't enjoying the exploration as much, and she was feeling drained from all the running, ducking, and weaving around she'd done over the course of her adventure. She wanted to be home. Some of the plants she had encountered had acid saliva, or shot weird spores out at anything that lightly brushed it, and so she stayed far from either one, not chancing her well-being for the sake of curiosity. Eventually she spotted a sign that she was almost out of this wild garden, when the plants she started seeing resembled those of what she was used to seeing, and her familiar plants started showing up more and more. She breathed a sigh of relief when it was all normal flora, travelling until she finally spotted her alcove. She was grateful she had found it before the sun set, as she wanted nothing more to hunt and then go to bed. She did wonder what that garden was from earlier, how unusual and colorful the place had been, but she decided she could do more of that thinking later on after a good meal and rest. She swam for fish, more careful not to go further down stream this time around. She dragged her catch back to her home, where she ate, disposed of the leftover bones and cartilage, and promptly remembered to get her necklace. She groaned as she stumbled out and grabbed it from the hideaway she had tucked it away in, pulling it back carefully around her neck with a yawn. She got into her nest and laid down, willing herself to fall asleep underneath the cold looking yet peaceful moon. As she started falling asleep, the gentle breeze traveled through the branches, rustling the leaves as the world around her settled down. She wondered dazedly if she would ever come across that place again. She hoped not, but if she did, she would come better prepared for another adventure into that colorful yet dangerous garden. I wonder if anyone has ever traveled into that garden? What if I was the first… I oddly enough hope I wasn't the first to come there, if there is anyone else out there that has, maybe I'll meet them one day… I can only dream. Koralie thought to herself. With that last thought, she finally drifted off to a fit slumber full of dreams. She dreamed of that colorful garden, only a less dangerous variation where she was safe and everything tasted like her favorite foods. It was a wonderful dream after the day of scary adventures she had. It was a peaceful sleep after the restless adventure.
