[Trade] The Styracosaurus Offering

Doog was walking casually along the shoreline. He was sniffing at various things that littered the ground around him. Items like clams, shells, and even washed up dead seaweed. Haize was laying on the beach not far from him, enjoying her slight solitude in the hot sunlight. Cama, on the other hand, was following after Doog and was carrying a large striped Oviraptor on her back.

Tiikerikkakku looked pleased with himself while he sat astride this cloudy looking styracosaurus. “Ah, yes. We should find adequate food here in this place.” He stated while looking around the surrounding area.

Haize rolled her large eyes with a snort. “Remind me why we're feeding this weird bird thing?” She questioned with a bit of annoyance like this venture was inconveniencing her sunbath.

“Because we want to make new friends and be on the good side of the Oviraptors.” Doog responded with a sigh as he grabbed one of the clams. “We want to be on their good graces before they spread any more of those seeds again.” Haize groaned and stood on her feet to finally help out, not that any one told her to. She chose to help.

Tiiker just smiled and gently placed his feathered arms on top of Cama’s multi-toned head. “That's the spirit!” He chirped loudly. “I promise to make good on my word. You feed me and I'll make sure the others will stop bothering you!”

The Styracosaurus weren't sure if this tiny bird-thing was telling the truth or simply using them for a free meal, but none of them had room to argue or even cared to do so. Haize wasn't about to waste her breath in arguing and Doog was too kind-hearted to refuse feeding a hungry critter. Cama was still unsure of the whole situation and shrugged it off. She was going along with whatever everyone else was doing.

Doog tossed the clam in Tiiker’s direction. “What do you think of this?” He questioned the bird-thing while looking around for another tasty treat to offer their possible new friend. Tiiker inspected the clam before using one of Cama’s horns to split it open and slurp the contents right out of the shell.

“It has a strange gooey texture. Not sure if sea creatures are really my thing, but maybe I just don't like clams.” Tiiker admitted softly. He glanced around the beach side to see if he could find an idea to try something else.

“Here, how about this sea weed? It's less harmful to other creatures and no blood shed to eat it.” Haize commented while giving the striped Oviraptor a few pieces. Tiiker sniffed at it before making a face and tossing it to the side.

“Too salty and rotten smelling. I'm sure there's something delicious on this beach!” He groaned disappointed. He was so hoping to find something new to enjoy. Cama glanced up at him apologetically.

“Have you tried fish?” The green and tan clouded styracosaurus questioned. She was genuinely wondering if fish would be of interest to this raptor.

“No, but fish isn't exactly something my kind is known to eat.” Tiiker admitted before glancing up at the trees. “Normally we would eat fruits, nuts, and small creatures.”

“Maybe some coconut perhaps?” Doog offered while jogging off to some coconut tree clusters. Haize joined him and the two worked together to knock a couple coconuts from the tree. The two came back with a couple each.

“See, now this is what I'm talking about about!” Tiikerikkakku chirped happily while accepted the coconuts brought to him. He quickly removed the husks off of them, again using Cama’s strong horns on her crown to do his work. The coconuts, now shed of their husks were easily bashed into with his beak and cracked open. The liquid within dropped out of his beak and down Cama’s sides. She glanced up at him with annoyance.

“Can't you eat that somewhere else? You're making a mess!” She pointed out, seeing the water drop down her skin. Tiiker chirped apologetically and quickly drank the liquid out of his coconuts to prevent further messes and chomped on the flesh within the core.

“My apologies, Cama, these coconuts are just so delectable.” He chomped his way through the offerings until he was completely out of coconut to eat. “I wonder… are there any crabs on this beach?” Tiiker looked around with his orange eyes to see if he could spot any.

Doog glanced around and hummed. This sweet mannered styracosaurus was certainly wanting to make a positive impression with this striped Oviraptor. Even Haize grunted with acceptance as she, too, started to look around for a crab to feed this thing and be done with him. Cama nodded her head and glanced at the bird thing on her back. “I'm sure we can find you one.” She answered gently.

“Crabs… they are those weird spider things that crawl on beaches sometimes.” Doog observed the beach for sign of crab activity and started to venture ahead to find something that resembled an armored spider coming from the ocean.

Haize huffed and went to go lay back down in the sun and continue her sunbath. She didn't seem interested in harming another life, or perhaps she just would rather bathe in the sun than deal with this stranger that judged their food offerings.

The next time Tiiker and Cama saw Doog, he was carrying what appeared to be a red spider with a hard shell. This was certainly a local crab. “I think I found one!” He announced with a full mouth of the squirming crab. Tiiker jumped off of Cama and took the crab from Doog. He smashed the creature on a rock till it stopped moving.

“Yes, I do believe this is a crab.” Tiiker observed. He cracked one of the legs off of the body and slurped the contents out of the crunchy shell. “Oh I must say, I do like this flavor. I doubt this shell is edible, but at least it's not hard to remove the meat within the shell.”

Haize stood with another huff. “Good we fed him. Can we go now? We have things to do and places to be.” Doog shot her a look that made her step back.

“Let's not be rude to our guest, Haize. He is a hungry traveler and we are humble hosts here.” Doog reminded her softly. Cama glanced between the two and cleared her throat.

“Well, I think he is satisfied with our offering, right?” Cama questioned and glanced to Tiiker as if looking for confirmation. “That means we are in good standing with your favor and you will carry your word and promise?”

Tiiker nodded his head as he continued to crack more of the crab open with his beak and slurp out the contents with a happy smile. “Yes, I will say this offering is acceptable and I will discuss things with the other Oviraptors soon. Just let me finish this delicious meal…”

Doog, Haize, and Cama all left to return home, happy to have fed the strange creature and hoped whatever it was the Oviraptors were doing would be put to a stop now that they gained favor with at least one of their kind. The sounds of Tiikerikkakku enjoying his crab meat meal could be heard in the distance as it too faded the further the trio of styracosaurus moved away.
