[Gift] New encounters

The new space they had gained access to was unlike what they had seen before. It was a big jungle of climbing, enormous greenery. But it wasn’t the jungle that was the part that surprised the three utahraptors the most. It was the creatures that gave them the shock. They carried themselves low to the ground, especially with their front legs. And as their body was armoured with pointy plates of armour their tail looked as if it could do quite a bit of damage as well.
Phaeniss, to neither of the other two raptors' surprise, was the first one to show an ounce of hostility.
“Look at those weird things. What even the hec-” Before he could finish his sentence he was smacked in the face by Ferdinands tail.
“Excuse our partner, he has a disease where he can’t think before he speaks sometimes.” Kormal said in an attempt to descale the negative energy Phaeniss had brought into it early on. It was quite clear that this was a futile attempt at best. The new, weird creatures had already picked up on the energy and were flicking their tails threateningly behind them. One of the armoured dinosaurs took a few steps forward. It was a light brown, almost beige one with a big and heavy appaloosa marking. On his hindlegs he carried spurs and on his forehead he carried the skull of a long horned beast. Along with the quills that covered his back he also carried armour over his shoulder.
“It is we who should ask who you are.” He said with confidence as he made sure to show off the heavy, yellow tail tip. A few others behind him nodded in agreement. “You barged into our home.” More agreeing murmurs were coming from the small crowd behind the Euoplocephalus. It was quite clear that the aggressive nature that Phaeniss, the green and yellow raptor, had shown them from the start had decided what they thought about the three raptors in front of them. They were considered intruders.
“We really should put a muzzle on him, you know.” Kormal, the vividly pink raptor, gave the orange raptor Ferdinand a tired look as Phaeniss started at them both angrily.
“What? We can take them.” He growled with every feather on his crested head turned up. “They’re tiny. I bet they’ve never even seen one of us.”
“Sometimes you astonish me,” Kormal said. The words didn’t sound like a compliment. But the way Kormal said it made Phaeniss still take it as a compliment. It was true that the yellow and green raptor had more murderous intent than either Kormal or Ferdinand, but that was a reason they liked him. He never made it boring to be around.Even if they now had to fight a new species of dinosaur they had never met. “It’s not like we’ve seen any of them before either, you mottled dumbass.”
The Euoplocephalus at the front of the small gathering banged his tail hard into the ground. They didn’t need to be able to sense Phaeniss aggressive nature or hear the way the three raptors spoke to each other, the green and yellow raptor was showing it off so clearly in front of them that they understood fully what was about to happen. The three raptors that had so suddenly invaded their space would not just leave because they were threatened. No this would be a fight. The big question was if it would be a fight with all three of them or just the aggressive one at the back. The pink and the orange raptor was after all holding him back to some degree. Phaeniss would not move from behind them until they let him.
“Fine. Fine.” Ferdinand smiled wide. It wasn’t like he needed much convincing after all. He was not as eager to fight them as the green and yellow raptor perhaps but it would be a lie to say that there wasn’t a small part of him that agreed that this fight would be fun. 
“What better way to get to know them other than engaging in a fight with them.” Kormal also answered matter factly. The two raptors were also getting into a more aggressive stance. “Although, next time, at least pretend for a minute that we are not a threat or we will find you a muzzle and we will make you wear it so you can’t say any more stupid shit.” He didn’t glare back at the green and yellow raptor, he gave him a wide smile and an encouraging gaze. At least the dinosaurs in front of them weren’t the biggest. Sure they had mass on their side. But the three Utahraptors had agility and height on their sides so Kormal was quite sure that they could easily take them on. At least for a while.

“We will not back down. Beware. If you do not leave now-” The words didn’t reach the three raptors. Empty threats. This fight would be more fun than any of the oviraptors they had recently chased around. Ferdinand took the left side as Kormal took the right side of the dinosaur ahead of him. The dinosaur hadn’t even finished talking before they rushed towards him, giving the middle space to the more aggressive green and yellow raptor. “Fine.” The Euoplocephalus roared. “If this is how you want it to be done then so be it.” His loud voice was joined by the few others behind him. It wasn’t the most evenly matched fight when it came to numbers, but it would be fun regardless. The light brown appaloosa marked Euoplocephalus quickly turned his body around and used the force to swing his tail hard against Kormal who gracefully jumped above it. It barely missed Phaeniss who managed to evade it.
“Don’t get hit.” He could hear Ferdinands voice crackle beside him as he felt the wind from the tail passing him by closely. He didn’t need to look at the raptor to know that he was in fact smiling. It wasn't advice he was giving him, it was more along the lines of a taunt. He wouldn’t mind seeing Phaeniss get hit as long as it didn’t give him lasting damage. This would be a fun fight for all three of them regardless of how it ended. The angry roars of the dinosaurs ahead of them only sparked their will to fight. Kormal, Ferdinand and Phaeniss used their agility to their advantage, letting the angry Euoplocephalus hit each other with their tails by evading them in a timely manner when they were flung at them. It was the easiest way to cause any damage to the armoured dinosaurs while also avoiding the damage themselves. Of course it would only really take one well placed hit on any of the three Utahraptors to go down. They would just have to avoid that for the time being.
