The ol shakedown
Khan had grown quite tired of the elusive and avoidant Oviraptors... or whatever they were called. They were busy terrorizing the island with their plants and seeds and, ultimately, ruining his day. Thus, he had little options other than to get his answers by force... though he couldn't accomplish such a thing alone.
Having run into his sister Fury, as well as her leader Sc0rn quite by chance, the three agreed to hunt one of the unwelcomed guests upon their Territory and get the answers they sought... before enjoying them as a snack. They wanted to be rid of these newfound 'pests' and regain normalcy as quickly as possible.
As such, the hunt was on.
Khan led the party, his painted pattern blended him beautifully in the overgrown underbelly of the woods. The little dapples of the sun upon the forest floor played off of his many earthy colors making him a master of stealth in an area such as this.
Not too far behind him strode the equally as impressive Fury, who's bioluminescence lightly glimmered in the partial dark. She was graceful and stealthy, but her glow gave her away too quickly. Sc0rn on the other hand had other problems of her own. Towering taller than both with her steps crunching upon the earth like falling trees. Hardly subtle but she was to be the muscles in this operation. An ideal group of killers? Perhaps- but only time would tell.
"You're no tracker Khan- perhaps you should let Fury lead." Sc0rn piped up, her voice low and grumbly, heavy enough to carry for him to hear.
Briskly he shook his head, an annoyed and audible sigh escaping him at her suggestion. "I was the one who told you both where to head, not the other way around. I lead." He finished with firmness, not wavering a step as they pressed on.
Fury remained silent, listening in on the pair with interest, but not keen to get in the middle of it- despite her current position in the troop.
Sc0rn was growing impatient, watching Khan with hungry eyes from behind- partially considering making him a meal before leaving with Fury. However, she reeled back her impulses for now. Giant chicken sounded much more appetizing than a grouchy and arrogant Utah.
"There!"
His words snapped Sc0rn out of her mental meal planning to look where Khan had gestured. Off in the distance lay a clearing within the confines of the woods, however the creature in question was impossible to miss as she caught a glimpse of a golden... Giant chicken? She looked at Fury to confirm what she saw, only to be met with Fury's nod in agreement that she too saw the thing.
Without another word the group spread out, Khan using the tree cover to circle around to the back of the bird while Fury distracted it. At least long enough for them to pin it.
"Where do you think your going?" Fury called out, the Ovi's head tilting to one side in confusion and perhaps a twinge of dismay.
"Look, i don't want to hurt you...." Fury's voice trailed, dripping like sweet honey as she inched a little closer. "I just want some answ- HEY!"
Off it went, barreling off from her in great haste. The golden ovi with turtle like shell markings on its body took off like a bullet. And, you would think it would be slower given its appearance... the nerve.
It had nearly beelined it from the clearing before Sc0rn appeared and blocked its escape route. Squaking, the Ovi changed its route and headed back towards Fury only to find Khan also standing closeby blocking the only other way out.
"Listen, giant duck- or whatever you are you're going to answer our questions... now." Sc0rn spoke angrily, her tail swishing from side to side in anticipation.
The Ovi looked at her, a slight shake rippling down its body out of nervousness though more than likely fear. To everyone's surprise though, the golden goose declined with a head shake. The message was clear, and no was the answer.
"I don't think you grasp what's about to happen here." Khan chimed in, "you will answer, or you're dinner."
A gulp. The ovi's gaze danced from one face to the next, uncertain on what to do. "I-i" it began.
"OUT WITH IT!" Sc0rn roared.
"Let the bird Talk Sc0rn!" Fury butted in, taking another step closer to their target. "Answer our questions and you get to go. We don't need to make you dinner if you just tell us what you know-"
"I..i can't." It spoke softly, a defeated look upon its features now.
"Then you want to die?" Khan pressed.
"If I tell you anything, I'm dead anyways!"
So there it was... what could this creature be so afraid of that it would rather be eaten now by them than killed by something else later? Things just didn't seem to add up.
"What can you tell us about the crazy plants around the isand?" Fury pressed,
"I cant-"
"Well then tell us why your lot keeps planting seeds! Who would even order you to do that?" Khan added,
"I can't tell you!!" The Ovi practically cried.
""HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE?!" Sc0rn demanded, stepping forward before pinning the Ovi to the ground with one of her back feet.
"I TOLD YOU I CANT SAY-" The Ovi replied.
Then that was it... Fury turned away as not to watch Sc0rn at work. That poor bird never stood a chance... yet what was it so afraid of that it'd rather meet Sc0rns teeth than talk? Things were much darker on island than they had even considered when starting this hunt. Would they even figure it out before it was too late? Hard to tell. All they knew is that they needed to find another bird to talk to and quick. Their adventures were only just beginning.
