The snow had melted and spring was now here, with every dinosaur enjoying the warm weather it brought with it and not only were the islands dinosaurs more active it brought life with many other things coming out of the winter slumber.

Jaws let out a long yawn as Mirage sat in the sun alongside a lake close to the streams that had the occasional waterfalls that were the first to thaw when spring came around.

Mirage loved the spring weather and seeing everything come to life and usually lazed around while he did. Shaking his head every once in a while to keep himself awake but as he did he spotted something making its way down the river , it was something he had never seen before.

“I’ve seen logs float but not that fast” he muttered to himself as he moved his head with the floating log as it made its way through the water's current which got him curious where it was heading.

As he stood up to inspect the log as it was close to shore floating his eyes widened seeing it suddenly disappear under the water which made his jaws drop in confusion, as only bubbles were left on the surface and the log was nowhere to be seen until it resurfaced a little ways up the river.

“that’s odd I swear it was just over here, maybe I gotta stay off the crawfish eating” he mumbled before getting to his feet and following the odd log which was heading towards a stream that he knew very well.

To Mirage’s surprise the log stopped as he leaned down next to it lifting it gently with his jaws before spotting a small critter on the end who was

Holding on with all its might which caused the sucho to drop the log back into the water.

“What was that!” He said stepping back looking at the log with concern before seeing it move

As the small critter dragged it to the shore and began moving it up the stream carrying it, it was a beaver and it was out foraging for logs for its dam and it seemed like Mirage had gotten in its way of doing so. 

“Oh sorry little guy, I didn’t think they were out already. This is the first time I’ve seen one up close” he muttered to himself as he watched the little beaver navigate the environment around it. Which gave the sucho an idea as he quickly followed but stopped at a stick pile and picked some up in his jaws.

The beaver had led Mirage to a small dam that blocked off one of the stream falls as he watched it place the log before wandering off again in search for more logs, it gave Mirage some joy as he leaned down placing the sticks and logs he had gathered while following the little critter. He didn’t understand it but it seemed like the beavers had a purpose in doing it so he didn’t mind helping out besides it was spring and new things always showed up during that time of the month.

“This must be a lot of work for these little guys so interesting to watch” he said as he sat down beside the stream spotting more beavers coming out of the dam as they moved various logs and sticks they had already placed along with the ones Mirage had brought. He was glad that his contribution was helping them out with their dam, 

“ Guess they were over the winter weather as well just like the most of us” he added before chuckling to himself as he continued to watch them, with a few of them walking around him even if they were dragging something back, it didn’t seem to bother them that he was there watching them work their magic.

After a little while the dam had gotten bigger and Mirage helped where he could

Logs and sticks closer so the beavers wouldn’t have to travel to far to get them, some of

Them simply tossed away what he grabbed and some did take what they wanted which almost became like a game to the sucho. It had gotten later in the day and Mirage had laid down to continue to watch them with the last of

The beavers bringing in some logs before they just hung around their dam as it got cooler.

“Seems like that was today’s hard work put to an end, at a good time to” Mirage said before smiling as he stood up and noticed that the stream waterfall had stopped due to the size of the dam which made him understand a bit more

About the little critters , it seemed like they were ready for spring just like him and besides he didn’t mind their odd behaviour he thought it was interesting.

“Welcome to spring little guys” mirage said before wandering off watching the beavers for a bit more before it was time for him to head home.
