It had been a dry couple of months since the round of spring taking over the island and many dinosaurs were out and about migrating long distances to greener areas different from where they resided in the winter months. With the large herbivore heard migrating it put everyone one on edge as tensions were high even among the predators that stalked them, but it was prime hunting time even if it was dangerous.

Heavy footsteps crushed against the dry ground as three large predators came to a stop with the lead on a large acro who by the name of Astral, leaning down and sniffing massive footprints that were left in the dry lakes ground, and up alongside him was Seek and Revenant is hunting party.

“ the shunosaurus herd should getting tired, the heat is taking a toll it’s just a matter of time before we can strike” Astral said, letting a rumble leave his throat.

Which was met with a nod from Seek who inspected the large footprints himself, and of course a hiss from Revenant who couldn’t wait for the hunt to begin, it had been awhile since the three hunted a shuno and they knew the risk. 

“We should continue to hang back, don’t want to spook them into a rampage, doesn’t usually end well” Seek said quietly as he stepped forwards with Astral and Revenant following close behind, it was time to keep following the herd as timing was everything with this hunt.

Up ahead the large shunosaurus herd had come to a stop as the younger members of the herd needed to rest, with most of the adults staying on the outside of the herd which included the much older bulls who had a few years under their belts already and we're really feeling the toll of the weather and traveling they had been doing.

Revenant had taken the lead as Seek and Astral split of looking to pick out a member of the herd that would be easy to take down, and the two large acros had spotted a larger bull shuno who was falling behind the herd as they rested and he was alone so they wouldn’t have to worry about the herd coming to his defense.

Which Revenant picked up on as he watched the bull that Seek and Astral were eyeing up, he just needed to do his thing which was make the herd uneasy as he hid behind a rocky edge that surrounded the area they were in, it was only a matter of time that their hunt would go into action.

With a nod from Astral and Seek the hunt had began as Revenant made himself known to the herd letting out a roar that shook the ground slightly and that was enough to get the herd aware of the danger that had been following them.

Loud bellows from the herd shook the earth as the herd began to move and Seek and Astral honed in on the bull who seemed to be unbothered by the uproar but he wasn’t aware of the danger that lurked behind Revenants diversion, Seek moved forwards as he got behind the large shuno and Astral took the front of the herbivore who now was surrounded by the group of predators.

“Good work you two, the old one is ours now” Astral growled as he snapped at the shuno’s face and was met with loud bellows in return, As the two handled the bull Revenant made sure the rest of the herd had moved off and wouldn’t be coming back to aid and as he did he watched carefully before joining in on the main hunt.

“Keep yourself close Seek, don’t let it breath to much” Revenant hissed at the pale scaled acro

Who was a little unsure how they were going to take the brute of a bull down. But being so young the three were in for a rude awakening as the large shuno had fought much larger foes before and had its own tricks up its sleeve, and all it was doing was waiting for one of the three to get over confident and attack first.

Astral and had enough of waiting and was first to launch a attack towards the shuno who moved in a way that caused the much larger acro to lose his footing as he stumbled forwards scraping his face against the harsh ground as dirt flew up, it was beginners luck as he growled letting a hiss out getting to his feet and nodding to the other two to launch their attacks.

Revenant was next followed by Seek

Who tried to attack the bull from each side and as they did they were met with a harsh body check as the shuno shook his side causing none of their attacks to land and them

Sliding off but trying to avoid getting trampled as the large herbivore bellowed and stomped

Its feet. This fight wasn’t going as planned and the target they picked wasn’t going down without a fight.

“ it’s seasoned, why did you pick the one that knows what it’s doing Astral” the Alberto snapped with a hiss from his jaws, “ at this rate we will never bring it down” Revenant said as he shook off the hit and watched as Seek also shook it off, this was becoming harder then it looked and maybe the shuno was off the menu for today since it was putting up one hell of a fight against them and ultimately fighting back.

Astral tried many more times to go for the shunos neck but was met with a harsh hit from the shuno and each side was taking hits without the large herbivore budging or even looking tired but Astral, Revenant and Seek were exhausted.

“Let it go we are never bringing it down” Seek said as he growled walking over to Astral and Revenant with a limp from the various and harsh blows he had taken from the shuno. It was a killed or be killed world and it seemed like the shuno had other plans then becoming the threes meal.

The three laid down in the dirt as they watched the large herbivore work to catch up to its herd who was waiting for it , despite the three carnivores attacking. 

Three carnivores lay deciding maybe it wasn’t the best idea to pursue their big game hunt and ultimately lost once again, but there was always a learning side to it at least.

With growls and snaps the three talked over what went wrong and licking

Their wounds to hunt another day.

“Hunting is important but make sure you guys watch how the prey acts” Revenant growled as he licked his wounds “not every prey animal is easy game and thinking that way will get you killed” he said which made Seek speak up.

Seek nodded as he watched off in the distance “ it’s always the ones you think are weak who prove your different, you kill or get killed” he said laying his head down on the ground.

Astral just let out a huff and grumbled laying on his side before closing his eyes as he was sore and mumbled from his jaws “you two are right that fight could have gone differently let’s be lucky we just left with some bruises” they would need to rest now to prepare for future fights and so they did before heading off to find another food source when the time came.
