The rushing water echoed that rumbled across the island with each river spanning wide and far, with most of the rivers being accessible to most dinosaurs but only some dabbled into the juicy fish that provided a tasty meal when caught but catching them was a whole other game. Soft footsteps mushed in the mud off the river bank as a small figure that spotted dull brown scales and a long snout and followed behind him was a larger figure who went by the name as Skoggr, and the smaller one sucho who went by the name of Deaglan.

“This river should be good enough with lots of flow and it’s clear come on Skoggr we have to get to fishing can’t just stand there big guy” Deaglan said as he looked back at the large carno who seemed not to keen to learn but tolerated it. Skoggr let out a sigh as he lowered his head looking at the river that rushed in front of them, his feet getting stuck in the mud as he walked.

“How is this fun to do, there is so much mud I feel like i’m going to slip Deaglan” Skoggr growled as he shifted his weight to match where the sucho walked trying not to fall over face first, he wasn’t impressed so far but continued to listen to Deaglan who planned to teach him how to fish.

“Oh come on suck it up, look at all them just sitting there so easily ready for the taking” Deaglan said as he leaned down watching in the river as he tracked each fish that swam by as Skogrr joined beside him watching each fish and trying to learn what Deaglan was doing. Using his snout Deaglan placed it in the water slowly making sure not to move to quick as he mumbled to Skogrr “You don’t want to move to quick or you will scare them off, they may seem dumb but they are super fast especially in this river” as he nodded to Skogrr to try it out which he was met with a annoyed growl but the carno gave in and followed Deaglan’s lead.

“ If only I had the same snout length” Skogrr growled as he tried to lean down to copy Deaglan but was only met with feeling off balance and almost falling in as he growled in annoyance before completely ignoring Deaglans way and trying his own way which was getting in the river itself as he could plant himself using his weight as he leaned down closer to the water watching some fish swim by due to the splashing.

Deaglan chuckled as he turned his attention back to the river as he waited for the right moment and with a loud snap he closed his jaws pulling upwards as a large fish flopped back and forth trying to free itself from the jaws but wasn’t successful as Deaglan tossed it onto the bank beside them, that was one fish and now it was to continue for more but he wanted to see if Skogrr was having any luck.

“Now you try Skogrr” Deaglan said as he watched intently waiting for the large carno, he was excited. Skogrr rolled his eyes at Deaglan and got ready as he shoved his head into the river but came up with nothing after waterboarding himself by accident as he coughed before shaking his head, growling.

“This is stupid, Deaglan why couldn’t we just hunt on land” Skogrr said as he looked at the sucho who was trying to hold back a laugh, which made Skogrr to want to try again as he planted himself again in the river but this time he had a different approach on how to get the fish.

As the fish moved slowly due to the water calming Skogrr raised his head up before slamming it down using his brute like horns to slam it into a large fish that couldn’t get by the shallow areas in the river area they were standing and with a big splash Skogrr pinned the fish before quickly using his jaws to grab it by the back fin.

Deaglan was impressed as he watched Skogrr stun the fish and ultimately catch it in his jaws, and with a big smile he walked over to Skogrr and congratulated him “ good job Skogrr you did it , I knew you could do it ya big brute! There is more to hunting than on land plus fish don’t bite back!” Deaglan said as he leaned down into the river before catching a few more fish into his jaws and tossing them over where his first one was.

Skogrr held the fish in his jaws as he held it proudly before placing it on the river bank and coming back to try and catch another one, he continued to do the same technique in bashing the fish first before catching them with his jaws, Skogrr was learning a different way to hunt and Deaglan found a new fishing buddy.

After awhile the two had complied two large piles of fish they had been catching all day and Skogrr was the first one to get out of the river with Deaglan following as the sucho smiled and sat down by his pile before watching Skogrr digging into his pile as he downed a couple fish along with licking his jaws after.

“Well maybe fishing isn’t that hard once you get the hang of it Deaglan thanks for showing me and coming with, plus they are pretty tasty” the large carno said as he sat down chewing on another fish, Deaglan nodding and smiled when he heard the words from Skogrr.

“It is a fun way to hunt plus they are great, that is true! Maybe we will have to go again” Deaglan said as he dug into his fish pile and the two talked over the various catches they made that day. Fishing was a common way for sucho’s to hunt and it didn’t hurt for Skogrr the much larger carnivore to learn a few new tricks.
