Aging

 “Not to rush you or anything. But the eggs are hatching.” Apocrypha tilted her head up when she heard the statement. The black and gold Tropeo gliding down and spoke just as she was about to land on the back of the much larger Albertosaurus. Apocrypha’s eyes widened, heart racing at the news as she looked back down at the fresh kill she’d been feeding off of....

“We didn’t need them anyway! We’re fine on our own. We still have the moms, too! And! You have me, and I’ve got you. So they don’t matter.” Frankie snarled back at Clerk, baring his teeth as they made the trip back through the forest and to the farm where Apocrypha and Kalli had hatched him and his sister. Cleric was trailing after him, her tail drooping and her head down slightly.     ...

Frankie had never been one to worry about his sister too much. Cleric was strong willed, she was hatched that way. She didn’t mind being on her own, and oftentimes when they had been younger she preferred to figure things out on her own and barely asked for help.
